Do Not Worry About That. Be who you are and do what you like. If other people are labelling you then that's their problem. You only get one life. Enjoy it by doing things that make you happy and don't worry about what others are saying.

enjoying keeping up good grades does not classify u as a nerd...first of all- be whoever u wanna be...if a nerd suits u best then so be it...BUT pls keep in mind the the term nerd is actually a person who is ONLY interesting in studying and has no interests WHATSOEVER in a social life..these people usually have no friends, no hobbies, all they live for is school...
I think the best approach is to try to get good grades but don't neglect ur social life...go out with friends, listen to music, watch a good movie from time to time.... i m not sure but the fact that u browse sites like yahoo answers for other things other than school related subjects already entitles that u have other interests...

Hey (again)....
You're not a nerd if you study.
And if you do study then by the time your in the next grade (or by the time you can go to college) then you'll probably do better in the next grade (or get in a school like Harvard or something)
What I'm saying is that you're not a nerd. "Nerd" is another stupid label the popular people come up with. Just stick to your friends and be proud. It works for me and I feel happy! <:-D

Though I don't understand your question, don't worry about being a nerd. Though it may not do a thing for you in High School it will serve you in the long run.
P.S. Some girls are totally into nerds, like me:-) Of course I'm assuming you're a guy! If you're a girl don't worry, guys like it all. You just have to find you particular flavor;-)

Studying can make you an interesting person. Just because you like studying doesnt make you a 'nerd'. to get anywhere in life you probably need it. If you enjoy it all the better, you'll go far. have fun!
