My dad is a HUGE music fan. He love all types of music and because music had been such a huge part of our relationship I am having a hard time picking a song. He loves Neil Finn, Beatles, Billy Joel etc. I am looking for a song for the father daughter dance that will mean something to him. It doesn't have to be about a love of a father. Just something approprate. Any suggestions would be great!

My cousin danced with her dad to "In My Life" by the Beatles. It was so sweet! He loves the Beatles just like your dad so it really meant a lot to him. Good luck!

I am kind of in the same position. My dad is also a big music fan. Fortunately, he really likes John Mayer. The other day, I was in the car and "Daughters" came on the radio. I started crying at the thought of my dad and I dancing to it and decided that it should be the song I use. Its not only good music, its appropriate.

My dad is a big Beatles fan too. He also loved that song Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle. I am trying to decide between Butterfly Kisses and In My Life by the Beatles.

What about the country song "I had her first"the songs means the dad was there from your birth until he gives you away..You just gotta hear it and then it will bring on a significant meaning.It is father-daughter specific.I do not remember the singers name,but it is a country song and a good one to dance to.

A really neat one is "I loved Her First" by Heartland. It's really sweet. I also think it's cool that you're doing a father/daughter dance.... I didn't at my wedding b/c it would've been too awkward for both of us - (niether my dad or me can dance and we're not close at all either). Good luck girl!
