Your standard shot is generally accepted to be 1 1/2 oz. Convert that to ml, divide the volume of your bottle by that amount, and you have your equivalent amount of shots.

Also, don't bother with lighting the absinthe on fire...it's not the traditional method of serving and a complete waste of the alcohol. It's just a flashy gimmick invented by Hollywood.

Absinthe in it's undiluted form is usually 70-90% ABV. That makes it about twice as potent as a standard shot of whiskey, vodka, etc. However, the drink is often mixed with sugar and set aflame, which burns off much of the alcohol, depending on how long it burns. Regardless, it always seems to do the trick for me and gives me the strangest and most entertaining dreams. Cheers!

Technically you don't burn the Absinthe when drinking it using the bohemian method. The standard French\Swiss method is to pour 1 part absinthe into a glass and then 3 to 4 parts (depending on taste) COLD water through a sugar cube (to sweeten the biter taste of absinthe, referred to as louching) into the glass and sip slowly.

However the bohemian method has a slight twist to it. You first put the sugar cube on the spoon over the glass, then pour in 1 part absinthe. Then using a match you light the sugar cube and let it caramelize. Drop the flaming cube into the shot, top with 1 to 2 parts COLD water (to louche and extinguish the flame) and drink quickly.

True, absinthe is not about shots...

You pour a bit in a glass (more or less, depending on taste), then put a bit of sugar in a spoon, and pour over cold water (non-sparkling!!!).

It goes milkish-white (it used to turn GREENish, hence the name of Fée Verte, or green fairy), and you sip it as a long drink.

As others said you don't shoot absinthe.

However, it depends on the brand, absinthe ranges from 45% alcohol to 74% and a couple brands are 83%-89%
