Muhammad wasn't a pedophile, because that's just a myth. Here's my copy paste proof.
A very conterversial topic to discuss in todays climate, particularly with non-muslims.
When Historians mention the age of Aisha (r.a) in their books, they are only providing an estimation. This is is because the Islamic Calender was not set up until the days of Omar ibn Al- Khattab (r.a). And the marriage of Rasuallah icon_saws.gif to Aisha happened long before this. Professor/ Dr. Ibrahim Abu Mohammad says that; "if one wants to know the exact age of Aisha, they need to use their skills to work it out. And this is what we shall do:-
1- The Prophet Muhammad icon_saws.gif was not the first person to propose to Aisha (r.a). Jubair bin Al- Mut'am was engaged to her before the Prophet. I pose the question, is it possible for a girl to be engaged when she is not ready for marriage?
2- Asma' (r.a), the sister of Aisha (r.a), was older than her by 10 years. Asma' died in 73 Hijrah at the age of 100, whilst Aisha died in 58 Hijrah.
3- The age of Aisha (r.a) was very close to the age of Fatima (r.a) and it is known that Fatima was born in the 5th year after prophethood. Let us assume that Aisha was 5 years older than Fatima, this means she was born in 1 year after prophethood. The Prophet icon_saws.gif consumated his marriage with Aisha in the 2nd year of Hijrah. This means that when he married her, she was 15 years old and not 9. How? Because after becoming a Prophet, the Messenger icon_saws.gif stayed in Mecca for 13 years before he migrated to Medinah. 13 years in Mecca + 2 years in Medina = 15 years.
Another method is:-
- It is known that Asma (r.a) died a few nights after the assassination of her son Abdullah in 73 Hijrah. Abdul Rahman bin Abe Zeenad states that the difference between Asma and Aisha was 10 years.
- If indeed Asma' did die when she reached 100 in 73 Hijrah, that means if Aisha lived to 73 Hijrah, she would have been 90 years old.
So... 90 (age) - 73 (year of Hijrah)= 17 years old.
Therefore, in 1 Hijrah, Aisha (r.a) was 17 years old when she married the Prophet icon_saws.gif.
There is a narration that says Aisha died in 58 Hijrah, and she was 67 years old. This cannot be correct because we know for sure that Asma, her sister, was 100 years old in 73 Hijrah, which means she was 85 in 58 Hijrah (the year Aisha died).
And since the difference in age is 10 years, that means that Aisha was 75 years old in 58 Hijrah and not 67.
75 (age of Aisha)- 58AH (year of death) = 17 years old.
Therefore, in 1 Hijrah. Aisha was 17 years old.
Conclusivley, the Prophet icon_saws.gif married Aisha (r.a) when she was 17-18 years old. And not when she was 6-9"

MUHAMMAD (pbuh) - The Greatest
‘My parable with the other Prophets is like a man who built a house, which was perfect except for one missing brick. People would go around the house, staring in awe of its perfection and saying: ‘Had it not been for this space!” I am that brick. I am the last of the Prophets.’ [Muhammad, in Bukhari

Muhammad - the Most Influential Person in History
From The 100, a ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History by Michael H. Hart
My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels.
Of humble origins, Muhammad founded and promulgated one of the world's great religions, and became an immensely effective political leader. Today, thirteen centuries after his death, his influence is still powerful and pervasive. The majority of the persons in this book had the advantage of being born and raised in centers of civilization, highly cultured or politically pivotal nations. Muhammad, however, was born in the year 570, in the city of Mecca, in southern Arabia, at that time a backward area of the world, far from the centers of trade, art, and learning. Orphaned at age six, he was reared in modest surroundings. Islamic tradition tells us that he was illiterate. His economic position improved when, at age twenty-five, he married a wealthy widow. Nevertheless, as he approached forty, there was little outward indication that he was a remarkable person. Most Arabs at that time were pagans, who believed in many gods. There were, however, in Mecca, a small number of Jews and Christians; it was from them no doubt that Muhammad first learned of a single, omnipotent God who ruled the entire universe.

No AGE rule in the HOLY QURAN.
No where in Quran is the age for marriage for girls (and/or boys) mentioned?", it is not mentioned by numbers in the Quran, but God establishes big clear standards that indicate that marriage can happen when maturity was achieved. As we all know maturity varies from one continent to another, from the hot countries to the cold ones, from one sex to another, and from one civilization to another. God knows that and he deliberately and out of His mercy, did not put an age rule for us. He left it for every community to decide while following the general rules of maturity supplied in the Quran.
As we said before marriage means taking crucial decisions which are essential for a long marital life as per Quran, like taking solemn pledge, ascertaining mutual attraction, agreeing to the dowry (including adjustment thereto), ascertaining whether the opposite person is an idol worshipper or not and many other issues. Further, marriage involves taking serious responsibilities on the part of both the spouses concerning the upbringing of the family, which needs a degree of maturity that can best be judged by the people closer to the individual getting married.
As stated above, with regard to things not specified in the Quran, it does not make any difference to do what one wishes to do as long as the law/s decreed for us in the Quran is/are not violated.
What would be blasphemous and incorrect would be to falsely attribute ones wish / choice to God. In other words, if one prefers XYZ and then claims that God's law is XYZ ,then that would amount to attributing lies to God which is strongly condemned in Quran.
[6:21]
Who is more evil than one who lies about GOD, or rejects His revelations? The transgressors never succeed.
[29:68]
Who is more evil than one who fabricates lies and attributes them to GOD, or rejects the truth when it comes to him? Is Hell not a just retribution for the disbelievers?
