I am 14 and want a natural diet pill. However most work by speeding up your metabolism? Does it work that when you stop using them your metabolism dramatically slows down, making you gain weight? Are there any that are suitable for teenagers that are available in the uk?

Diet pills don't make you lose weight any faster than a good diet. Why don't you just eat sensibly, fresh fruit and vegetables low fat meats and cut down on the bread. Do more exercise and join a weight watchers type group, you'll find their number in the phone book.
Don't pump yourself full of these chemicals, you could be heading for trouble later on in life.

Stay away from diet pills for as long as you can hold off! You will hear a lot of this but seriously, the longer you put off using such things the happier you'll be. Diet pills can seriously mess up your system.

If you want to lose weight, there are a number of things you can do. Drink lots of water, this flushes out all the toxins in your body. Join a gym, either pay as you go or monthly (like a phone!) and you will soon see the difference.

My tip is to put on your favourite music and dance around like crazy for 20 minutes each morning before school. It's fun and yes, it does have an effect!

Good luck! And remember, stay AWAY from diet pills

There are no diet pills that are good for you but if it is your metabolism you want speeded up then exercise for 20-30 minutes before eating. Your metabolism is then high and will use up the calories quicker. Nothing works better than a balanced diet. If you can surf the net then there are foods which can digest quicker than others. If you are serious about losing weight join a slimming club and exercise are the best options. If you are determined to go the diet pill route ask at your health store, but they will still advise you that you must alter your eating habits. Pills don't work on their own. You have to put in the effort too.

You are very correct, when you stop taking those pills your metabolism will slow down to where you might gain the weight back.

I reccomend instead that you just make your lifestyle an active one. If you watch TV a lot, then don't do that anymore, if you play video games, then don't do that anymore, if you chat online or use the phone a lot, then don't do that anymore.

In twenty years you have a stroke or heart attack, and you can't do those things anymore, then what is the point of doing them now? Think of your future and learn that exercising is not a brutality lesson, but enjoyment.

Go for walks, the for jogs, then for runs. Learn how to be active and do fun things like playing frisbee on the beach with (yes, your bathing suit). I loved doing that but I became pregnant when I was in high school and felt ashamed at doing anything with my friends anymore. Don't take your life for granted and keep it healthy.

I noticed you asked for a natural pill, somehow you seem to think these are less dangerous than synthetic pills, they are not! I know no matter what anyone says you will do it anyway so really the best thing at your age is to first assess your diet because even with diet pills, you eat rubbish you will still gain weight! because you are still growing you need to eat plenty of lean protein(fish, seafood, chicken, quinoa) this actually helps stabilise weight, you have less cravings for junk! drinking dandelion and fennel tea is also good, dandelion acts as a cleanser for the body and fennel helps reduce cravings, green tea is also good but still contains caffiene, something you probably want to avoid at 14. If you approach weight loss from this angle it will be safe and permanent, with tablets all you lose is water and you do mess up your metabolisum, so be warned! good luck

No diet pill is suitable for anyone :(. Don't be fooled! There are great risks involved; a couple are kidney and liver damage.

Find something that inspires you to eat and excercise healthily. Why not keep a food/excercise planner and stick to it for a week, or a month maybe? That way, you can keep track of what your eating and how much you burn off.

There is no faster or easier way, sweetie.

Sorry, but my answer can only tell you this: A friend has terrible breathing problems from taking diet pills. The pills stripped the lining of her lungs. Obviously she wasn't aware of this danger before taking them. Be warned.

Your weight will sort it self out when your hormones have settled. You're too young to be thinking of such things. Allow your body to do its thing or you could be causing yourself untold future health problems.
