Ok lets see, when you laugh, that is a sign of pleasure,satisfaction and of course happiness
so if you are all broke and full of bills I guess that wont make you laugh, but at the same time there is a saying that money can't buy happiness,
so I think they both should go together, you will always find people who will say money won't buy them happiness and it might be true, ie : If someone you love pass away and at the same time you hit the lotto I dont think money can overcome the sadness you are going through.
by the way do you work for happiness or money ?
for money to buy you good things in life , to buy you happiness....

happiness, actually you always have happiness, everyone has it, its in our soul and hearts, we just need to find it in ourselves, you can find happiness in money too, its just we are looking for long time happiness like we don't want to feel any disappointment or sadness, which will not happen. We had so many senses and feelings that we should know how to use and control this feelings. Happiness is when you find contentment, but the problem is we don't have it, we always struggle for something and asking for more. Try enjoy what you have and don't sweat small stuff.

i would choose happiness. while im happy i can figure out better ways to make lots of money. if im depressed i can do a thing.

Could be the opposite for rest ... i.e., ... happiness and money would follow !
