Honolulu is on Oahu & Lahaina is on Maui.
It's about a 30 min flight.
The best airline to travel inter-island is easily Hawaiian Airlines.

It is a 30 minute flight from Honolulu to Kahalui, Maui and then it is 45 minute drive from Kahalui to Lahaina.

You have to fly over.
Either you have to drive 45 minutes from Lahaina to Kahului to catch the flight to Honolulu or you may be able to get on a smaller plane and fly from Kaanapali to Honolulu. Either way you have a 30 to 40 minute flight.
SuperFerry service from Kahului to Honolulu begins in July as well.

the drive from the airport in Maui will take longer than the flight from Honolulu...lol. 20 minute flight....30-60 minute drive depending on traffic.
