Dude, not all of us who are evangelicals are the "angry evangelical" subtype like Pat Robertson and Co. And just because someone calls themselves a Christian doesn't mean that they are--if they aren't living like Jesus, then they aren't Christians. I personally think any attempt to bring about a "Christian nation" by worldly means will never be successful for the very reason that you can pass all the "Christian" laws you want and have Christians elected to office, but that won't change human hearts. I'd much rather see Christians voting their conscience but NOT expecting any sort of religious utopia in this world, because that's not the way Jesus intended it. He said that His believers are in this world but not OF it. I think it's time for a lot of evangelicals to go back and look at what Jesus said instead of trying to make Him fit their own view of the way they think things should be.

people identify themselves by what the oppose as well as what they believe in. You do the same as anyone that can judge for themselves. Just as the ones you speak of demonize somebody, aren't you in the same process as you complain of "evangelicals." I'm a well educated reasonable healthy person that knows the bible rather well, understands the meaning of the word evangelical from the new testament. All Christians are evangelical. Anyone who has received Jesus, has shared their faith with someone else through their testimony. that is evangelism. As for those you see in the media more often such as Pat Robertson, you need to focus on positive rolemodels in the christian community that will encourage you rather than give you a platform to exalt your righteousness.

Hi
I am also a Christian, but I agree with you that there is many people who try to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ the wrong way. They try to push it down your throat until you choke on it and put way to much emphasis on all your sins and say that you are the worst person in the world and that you are gonna burn in hell. NO!!!!!! This is not the way Jesus did it. He used love (not to be confused with "love-bombing") and dearness. By spreading the gospel you should only use actions of unconditional love and respect for other people and, if necessary, use words.

My friend, you have a lot of truth in the description of your question.

But you cannot generalise like that - some evangelicals are really on fire for the Lord and want desperately to do His will.

Pray for those who do not follow the Lord in the genuineness of the Holy Spirit.

Some religions are used as an excuse to be hateful and lack any kind of compassion and respect for others that don't adhere to their beliefs.

Well they like to play the banjo, stomp and sing in church barefoot as well. They are so lost and full of hate. They should be placed on the FBI watch list of potential terrorists. If anyone bombing of Mosques occur I bet it comes from them.

Why should I allow a complete moron intimidate me into thinking I'm doing something wrong?

Civilized people understand that murder and lying are basically bad things, and those are my two soap boxes.

If you're dumb enough to lie, you're free game.
