Sorry, but not true. Rumsfeld has no arrest warrant for him in Germany. The German courts have not addressed any issue that would implicate an arrest warrant for Rumsfeld. You have just witnessed propaganda at it best.

Suing him and possibly having a warrant for failure to appear in court for future date are very different than actually having an arrest warrant currently issued. I think maybe you're combining a couple news items and buying into their sensationalism.
Germany should still be in 'time out' when it comes to passing judgment on any one else's war crimes. I know that sounds so unfair, but I've known and met victims that survived concentration camps. It's hard to forget that when I hear of any German official speaking of war crimes of other nations.
However, what happened at some of our USA prison camps and also how our government has "outsourced" torture is INEXCUSABLE. Accountability should be held at every level ... all the way to Rumsfeld AND Beyond.

Not quite. Some groups and individuals have filed to have the German courts charge Mr. Rumsfeld with war crimes at Abu Ghreb prison, but I don't believe the court has acted yet (if it ever will). Being sued is not the same thing as having an arrest warrant out for you. See this article from Deutsche Welle (in English) the official German broadcasting network.http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,1564,1413907,00.html
Lookiing at the story again, after I had first posted, I noticed that the charges were filed in Germany sometime in 2004 nad Mr. Rumsfield continued to function fully up to some months ago, so I don't think that those who charged him succeeded so far in achieving their objective.

What you're saying is sensationalist drivel.
Whilst there should be an arrest warrant for Rumsfeld, there certainly isn't a German arrest warrant for him. Germany is investigating prisoner abuses at Guantanamo Bay and should Rumsfeld refuse to testify IT called upon, an arrest warrant can be issued.
This is certainly not going to happen and saying it will is like stating that it's likely Tony Blair will go to jail for having a parking ticket. Anybody who refuses to testify in a German court is likely to have an arrest warrant raised against them.

That wouldn't surprise me, as all of Europe seems to be infected with blatant idiocy. Take Lance Armstrong as an example. Charges were brought against him in an Italian court, citing that he used performance enhancing drugs to win so many Tours de France. He didn't show up, of course. If he had, he risked the potential of spending time in an Italian prison. Given the nature of the charges, it was likely a kangaroo-court type of scenario, where his fate was determined prior to the actual trial itself.
Since he didn't go to court, he faces charges of failing to appear for a trial. Since he would likely be arrested upon showing up at any EU member country, this keeps him out of any future Tours de France. I suspect that this was the original intent all along.
Crying shame, isn't it? I guess we should've just let the Reds have Europe, since they went that direction anyways.

Yeah, so what?
Maybe the germans should spend more time & effort looking for the Former SS Members who held high level Civil Service jobs since 1945.
Maybe some more effort looking for former Stasi &DDR officials......

Yes the European countries complain about the USA and Britian being the "World's Police" when they have made them the "world's Court."
