Let's put it in this way. If God were to appear to you, you wouldn't need much faith to believe in Him. One wouldn't have trouble coming to terms with the physical existence of his/her earthly father. You simply believe he exists because you know he exists. If God were to appear to us or speak to us directly, it's like seeing your earthly Dad (albeit in a more awesome way). Everyone would be Christians because we would, in a way, be coerced into being Christians by His physical presence.
Going by the assumption (a very fair one, if I may say), that God is a perfect moral being, that includes not being able to lie to Himself. We may never know He just forced us into something, but He knows and that's not right to Him.
Now, examining Biblical history, God does not always communicate with humans in indirect ways that u mentioned above. In many cases, he spoke directly to humans aka "His prophets". However, we need to understand that this in an entirely different context. God was establishing faith in His people and people cannot believe in what they have not heard about. Before they hear, some need to experience his presence.
Furthermore, upon close examination of the prophets, they want to be in a close and intimate relationship with God. They were righteous to both friend and foe. In other words, God chose them to speak with them because they, in the first place, demonstrated great faith.
In our context, we have had sufficient evidence for faith, unlike the olden day Israelites. The Jews experienced Him to spread the good news (that is why they are the chosen people). God stopped sending prophets later, why? Probably because it was time since the foundations of his kingdom had been laid. The test for a greater faith in mankind had come.
In the Bible, Jesus said that John the Baptist was the most righteous who had ever lived. However, there are no explicit verses saying God had spoken to John the Baptist in such a direct way as well.
Did Jesus not say, "Blessed be he who has not seen and believed?" It takes more faith to believe without having had seen or heard God, but choosing to see God in everyday affairs.

Marx, let us imagine a situation where God has a message for you alone, and a voice booms from the sky, "I am God. I want you to ..." Now, it is quite possible that you will accept what God says, but the probability of someone else in the same situation going crazy is very real. After all, you are the only one hearing the voices and they may come when you are not expecting them.
This is one reason God talks to us in a subtle manner, in a language we understand: through your dreams, family, friends, enemies (if you have any), neighbors, radio, TV, pets, indeed anything around us. An advert on TV or radio may remind you of something that is totally unconnected with the product being advertised. Or you may have a dream where you are warned, advised or simply given insight about a problem.
God is constantly talking to us. The problem is whether we are developing our capacity to listen. With a little more discipline and practice, you will 'hear' God more.

properly i recognize me in my view I by no skill say "God works in mysterious procedures" or something like that. each thing that happens to us has a proof. it could commonly all lead decrease back to a call that the two we or somebody else made. If its some thing undesirable that happens, like say getting hit by way of a inebriated driving force, its merely being interior the incorrect place on the incorrect time and that the driving force of the different motor vehicle made a bad option to drink and force. there is not any longer something mysterious approximately it. The tragedy of 9-11 is a mix of undesirable options. The Katrina fiasco replaced into regularly via a bad determination (undesirable shape). those are no longer issues that "God" did to punish all people. those are issues that human beings did to different human beings via a call they made. somebody you adore passes away. this could be somewhat of existence. organic and organic. all of us stay a existence that leads in direction of a death. we can't stay continually. "God" should not be an exception to something. additionally "God" should not be a scapegoat because of the fact somebody would not opt for to stand the actuality that they made a bad determination. human beings could desire to take duty for the actuality that they make options. and each action has a reaction. some are no longer as good as one might wish. yet its real.

Because people were diabolically separated from God in the time of our first parents, and our human ability to clearly hear his voice has been forever compromised by sin.

I wish people would answer the questions and not go off the topic on these questions.
God communicates with us in mysterious ways because Love is made manifest through faith. Faith needs mystery to flurish. I think theres a part in the bible that talks about a generation of vipers that seeks ummm I forget the word i want to use but they want proof and they wont get proof. They try tempting God in order to give them there love. Love needs to be tested to see if its true. anyways thats my responce,

In philosophy the analogy is this. A worm can not comprehend a human, we are to big and have to many abilities, yet a worm is aware of us. A human is to a god as a worm is to a human. A human can not comprehend a deity as it is to big and has to many abilities. Any communication would be difficult - try to have a conversation with a worm.
A great explanation - and a great reason to not believe in the absoluteness of any deity.

I don't know specifically why, but I know God doesn't give you more than you can handle, his is a still small voice. You may need to spend some time in the desert to hear his voice more clearly. God wants your heart, not just your mind. He speaks to your very being. God is bigger than language.

Yes he can we are just too defiled in one form or another to hear his voice, God is not what carnal man thought or understood or even made out to be, he is far beyond that. You see we need to be completely broken down of all things in our life, ie: the pride we are often unaware of, the lust of an eye, slander and list goes on but these are the things that prevent us from getting closer to God and unless your close to someone you cannot hear what they say right? So when I say broken down of all things I think that idolatry is a very good example because we often refer or think of it as cheating on spouse but in Biblical term desire for money, things, control of others, all become form of idolatry, hope that helps.
