why are there still monkeys?

Actually, Humans evolved from apes, not monkeys. And I have read several idiotic questions similar to this one, there is nothing unique about what you asked.
All modern dogs came from a common ancestor, the wolf. So why are there still wolf's?
Just because a species splits off from an ancestor of another species, it does not mean that either species will die out.

thanks an interresting question. why are there still monkeys. Well if you were one to claim evolution is true then i suppose some monkeys just didnt evolve or the monkeys we see just evolving still because they started later. but i dont believe in evolution.

edit addition: What are you people talking about the question makes sense. If all the monkeys evolved then there offspring should be evolved monkeys. And the mother would of died off long ago so there shouldnt be anymore versions of her if all her offspring evolved. Maybe Im missing something Lol

Don't understand question are there expplainatoins?

Research evolution and how it works, the answer is in knowledge and education.

Humans and other primates can co-exist today despite similar ancestry because one group, in one place in one niche adapted to better suit that need. Another group, in another place in another niche adapted to suit another need.

Just like there can be tuberculosis viruses you can vaccinate against, and now super tuberculosis viruses that you can not vaccinate against.

Oh yes, and there are evolved monkeys, while you're educating yourself in basic biology, also look into New World and Old World monkeys. Oh and while you're at it, take a look into the evolution of Lemurs. I'm sure that will blow your mind as well.

Oh yes, and the fossil record is incomplete in many places not just this "missing link". Fossils a) need specific conditions to form b) need specific conditions to keep c) need to be found. On average 80-100 new dinosaurs are discovered in a year in North America alone. Never mind, you don't believe in Evolution, so you likely don't believe that any animal went extinct before ONE man and ONE woman were put here - hmm, remind me, how many daughters did they have and whom did their sons marry?

I think your question should be 'why are there still humans?' or 'why are monkeys still in existence, if humans evolved from monkeys, as is commonly believed and assserted?'

The truth is - humans were did not evolved from monkeys or chimpanzes or any other species. They were created distinctly human from the start. They were created in the image of God. God is not a monkey - he created monkeys!!

Is this a joke? The answer is natural selection, and there hasnt been enough time for humans to die off. think before you ask.

IF human evovle from ape-man.
Try and go to the zoo and ask the zoo keeper.
How long the ape-men has been with the zoo?
Check it out with them and see if any of them became living human kind in executive suits or it was just ghostly stories created by educated idiots in planet of apes.

Your obviously incorrect statement about monkeys means your question is invalid although unlike some people here I'm aware you were being tongue in cheek.

If you want to believe that you are evolved from a monkey, then be my guest, but I believe in creation.

If evolution really existed, then why are there still monkeys? Surely if they evolved into us, then it was for a reason, so why are they still here? And if monkeys are still here, why isn't the "middle" evolvee still here too?

When Charles Darwin wrote " the theory of Evolution" He wrote a preface in which he urged that it was a THEORY and HIS theory and that's all. Now all of a sudden, it is taught in schools as fact.

Remember when they taught people that the world was flat and that the Earth was at the centre of the universe . . .?

Think outsdie the box - don't follow the pack. . . . experts aren't always right.
