After reading some other questions, it seems dogs can't sleepwalk.

Well, my dog just had what looked to be a short nightmare, and not long after, he woke up growling. His eyes were open, but he looked very dazed, and just started growling at nothing, wasn't looking in a specific direction or anything. So, still growling on a low tone, he went to his bed, growled a couple more times, and fell back asleep. He looked very confused, didn't look like he had a clue as to what he was growling at.

It looked like he was sleep walking, because he was just growling away at nothing, and had such a distant look on his face, and drowsy eyes.

Does your dog ever act...weird..After dreaming?

Oh. And his older buddy died Sunday. Can this cause him stress in his dreams? Not that his dreams don't already look stressful...I guess it's really hard to tell what they're dreaming about. Lol.

Any thoughts? Comments?

Oh yeah, I know about the whole whining and barking while asleep bit. Lol. Our dog that just passed had dreams almost every time she slept. I really thought it was hilarious when just a couple weeks ago, she actually started frantically wagging her tail...I had never seen her do that before. But yeah, she was very loud when dreaming.

But she never really woke up confused...A little drowsy, but she seemed to know right away where she was at. Then again, she was 12, so she probably got used to it.

Our dog now doesn't dream as frequently, and when he does dream, they aren't too violent.

But I think whatever he just dreamed about must've been a little disturbing for him to wake up and continuesly growl for a minute.

Dogs dream same as we do. And they can have nightmares too I suppose. Things that frighten or confuse them. When they wake up, often might not understand the difference between what was a dream and reality. And, YES the death of a companion is stressful and can cause more dreams. The death of a friend can cause stress and depression that may last for weeks, especially if they witnessed the death.

I used to have a dog that would dream so hard about chasing things that he'd actually wine & bark, all the while moving his legs like he was running (while laying on his side). It was hilarious. Sometimes he'd get so worked up that he'd jerk awake, put his head up and look at me like "what the heck... i was just chasing a bunny rabbit and now i'm in the house looking at you - how'd that happen?"... I think that dogs especially get attached to other animals or people - there is a reason why they are called man's best friend. He is probably missing his buddy and it IS a little stressful for a dog to loose a friend. He doesn't understand why his buddy isn't there anymore. So... long story short (yah right) - it's normal for dogs to have crazy dreams and yes, I think they wake up confused.

i do not imagine bypass over CA ought to were given any political credibility besides. some many years in the past she may've been applauded instead of booed. To be blunt, why ought to the international care what she thinks? If she replaced into 4' 9" and three hundred lbs no individual may pay any interest to some thing she suggested. I do agree that it is a attractive get at the same time of ways prejudice breeds in society. Peace, AAD
