It isn't necessary to introduce yourself - they are just operating the switchboard.

- Hi, I would like to speak with Ms. so-and-so

They usually ask to spell the name, and put you through.

If you have the room number, you can give that one directly... instead of the name. the faster you are off their line, the happier they are...

If you know the resident, then ask to speak with a manager and have them phone the person, either by room # or cell #. The employees at hotels do their best to keep the guests privacy, otherwise. They will not disclose that info to you, so talk to a manager and prove how you know them.......

Good luck, it really sounds like you want priviledge into someone's life to me.

"Hello, I need to speak with someone who is staying in your hotel, please"

Then take it from there. They may just ask for the room number, they may ask for your name. Let them ask you for the information they need to connect you.

In case you don't speak French, Lord Oni.... told you to ask where the pool is.

Are you wondering in a different language? What language? Or just the polite way to rephrase the sentences?

Just say "hi, room ____ Please."
