can an illegal immigrant who lives in the USA travel to Hawaii with just a valid passport?

He/She Would be able to ge back from Hawaii without a proplem

You will need some sort of valid identification before boarding any flight in the U.S. but if you show a passport without a visa then you will have problems. I would recommend getting your immigration status resolved first.

I don't think you need a passport to go from the mainland of the US to Hawaii which is a US state.

Going anywhere in an airport could be a problem if you are illegal. But you might get there and back with no one knowing. It happens.
