I think the bigger question is whether a lot of us would let a homeless guy into our churches in the first place. Jesus said that whatever we do (or don't do) for those who are regarded as the least among us is what we do (or don't do) for Him. He would be sitting next to the downtrodden, the lonely, the ostracized, but I think that there are already far too many people like these in our congregations today and nobody is letting Jesus move them to reach out to these people because they're too caught up in their own concerns or own motives for being there instead of being there to serve Him.

The first set of links below are a few blog entries I wrote a while back about our love being the greatest evidence of Christ in our lives. I think whoever is most in need of Christ's love would have Him sitting right beside them, and we'd better follow His lead.

When Christ was in the temples he was teaching, so he would be sitting in front of the study group or congregation.

That said, Christ was not often in the temple once he was an adult. Instead you would find him out among the poor and the needy doing God the Father's work.

Too many churches are filling up the weekdays sitting around singing about mama's favorite rocking chair or what not instead of being out in the community. Folks in church are becoming so spiritually stagnant they are about to pop like a toad.

You would not see Christ often in many churches.

if all people is quite gawking at you and making comments approximately you, you're certainly no longer in a Christ loving church, and you'd be able to desire to bypass someplace else- in spite of the indisputable fact that previously you're making that determination, you would be able to desire to understand that Jesus is often beside you- everywhere you bypass, no longer in basic terms in church yet daily and each 2nd of your existence. Take it from somebody what as quickly as an extremely low self esteem- Jesus is the place you get your properly worth no longer human beings.

Given His habit of visiting with tax collectors, lepers, etc., I think He would sit next to whoever "deserved" it the least. I believe the line (I don't think it is scripture, I only remember my mom saying it) is something like "Christ came for the least, the last, and the lost."

My other thought is that He would sit with the children, based on the "suffer the little children to come unto Me" scripture.

I think he would want to sit next to all of us, but we would gather around him instead.
