I am wondering what the UK thinks of McDonalds, one of the largest USA companies that due to it's great taste and excellent value, can be found all over the world? What's your favorite thing on the menu and do they have fish and chips there? And are you glad that you have McDonalds, considering that British food isn't very good to begin with?

Thanks!

You blew it as soon as you said "British food isn't very good to begin with".
Is that why half or more Americans are the size of Zeppelins and the rest are half the size of Yorkshire.....................

We also have some drive through McDonalds in the UK, and to some (usually what we call boy racers and their birds) the best thing about McDonalds is the car parks in which they can loiter like a bunch of sad loosers.

I prefer a Whopper from Burger King myself or even an indian meal, but you cannot beat a McD milk shake.

On the subject of British Food, you should visit our country and try some of our more traditional dishes, you may be quite surprised.
I always try the local dishes when i go away, as part of the experience and am very seldomly disappointed.

For me a McDonalds is a last resort, the places are characterless and the food boring, fatty and plastic.
They are reasonably cheap I suppose and they can produce reasonable coffee.
Much prefer "real" fish and chips from a decent chippie.
I don't agree that Brit food is crap, it can be in the hands of some, but generally no, depends where you experienced this bad food
I was entertained by an American couple to meals over a period of two years, (in the middle east), their food differed very little from British food, so with all due respect I think you are spouting bollocks

Personally I never eat McDonalds. I had one or two years ago but I find them very boring and unhealthy. I can see why people do buy them though as whichever country you go to a McDonalds will always taste as same so you will never be disappointed. I also think that 'fast food' is a joke because the queues are so slow its faster to go to the fish and chip shop. I will ignore the statement that British food isn't very good to begin with as the questioner obviously is proud of McDonalds.....................

Mcdonalds is just like millions of other take away places in the uk. Its ok but we could live without it. Fish and chips is something we couldn't. How can you say british food isn't good when most of the americans are fat from overeating fatty foods.

Firstly British food is great, its the mass produced methodology inspired by America that has change what people perceive as British food. A great deal of British food takes simple ingredients and cooks them simply. Roast beef with all the trimming is a fantastic dish, as is shepherds pie, lancashire hot pot, to name a few of my favourites. Don't believe me, come over and try it. But on to MacDonald's.

Its fatty food, and humans like fatty food, its built in from the time we were cavemen. It tends to be convenient value for money though, no not really I could have much more filling lunch for the same price from a local cafe. They also have parent and child facilities, baby changing etc. My favourite on the menu is the Big Mac. They don't really serve fish and chips but you can get a fish burger.

Most British people don't like McDonald's, The largest selling amount of fast food in the UK is Indian and Chinese.

Not all UK people like McD's - I don't and neither do my kids. There is no fish and chips on menu, just American Fries I think.

British food is good may I add - like food anywhere in the world it depends on how you cook it. Quick convenience food is bad - but then again didn't that start in America????

UK. McDonalds I had a Whopper meal last week because it was bought to me and to be truthful a roll a leaf of lettuce a round of something brown an eight of an inch thick a square of cheese one piece of corgette a squirt of relish and oh yes sel.of sauce ie, Tomato &Tomato&Tomato was it value for money NO!!! and the service was poor to say the least. Give our restaurants a chance and our chefs do not deserve that comment from you.A Jumbo haddock in batter with chips (frenchfries) and you will know you have eaten.

McDonalds is rubbish - when I walk past our loacl McDonalds there is no one in there over 16 - its' just a school canteen really. The food is always cold, jelly-like, sweet (sugar in burgers and burger buns is wrong), and perfectly shaped (normally in rounds) which is worrying. Can't stand the stuff. Are you in the US? The US is the country that invented cheese in a spray can. Oh yes and the UK is the land of Beef roasts, stews and fish & chips. I rest my case.
