Hi, all, I'd really like some advice from people who have been where I'm at right now :)

I'm in the middle of my stretching process, and I'm taking it super slow, about two months between stretchings, only one size down at a time.

My problem is my new jewelry. My new 8 gauge bars are hollow and flared at the end, and on the other end is another flare-thing, it's got a flame decoration on the front, and it doesn't screw off anywhere, it's all one piece. My question is, how should I get then in my ear? The back flare is really thin and It's kinda sharp, also I'm still a 10 gauge so I'm not too keen on just shoving it in there. What's the correct way to use this tyoe of jewelry?

Thank you in advance. Flamers will be used to stretch my earlobes.

What you have is a double flared plug, not something I suggest using until your ears are well adjusted to the gauge of the plug.

You want to get them in, you can have a piercer help you or you'll have to get up to 8 and let your ears heal, then do another stretch to get to 6 and put in the jewelry. You need to stretch your ears to the size of the flare if you want to get them in, but keep in mind your ear will heal to the gauge of the wearable middle surface area. If you plan to go larger than 8g, I wouldn't suggest using the plugs at all since once they get in, they can be a pain to remove and can damage your ears.

Double flare jewelry is not good for fresh stretches. Basically you need to stretch larger to accomodate the flares. I would suggest getting some single flared jewelry, CBRs, horse shoes or if you want double flare, get a tunnel with screw off ends.

It sounds like it's poor quality jewelry if one of the flares is sharp.

you have a double-flares. they should not be used for stretching. ever.
what you will have to do is get a single or non-flared plug and stretch with that. you may only use double-flares once the hole is relatively healed and stretchy enough to handle it (usually a couple of months).

I was such a wimp when I was stretching that I went to a professional for each size. When I brought my own jewelery it cost about $5-10 and that way I knew I was doing it right.

i dont quite understand do you mean one end is pointy/ish and one ends big and solid like, or are the ends bigger than the middle, cos if one ends pointy you just shove it in as far as it goes without hurting then ease it through as it stretches, i been strectching my ear for years, but yno in a kind of casual way, i just put in random things i find like at the moment i have one of those glow stick conector things cos i havent found anything bigger yet, i used to have part of a felt pen, and before that i think it was a bunch of little nails. its fun you shouldnt take it so seriously.
