she will have to confess in front of preist and the priest will black mail her to have sex with him also. Finally all sins will be forgiven because of atonement. Rejoice.

Right, OK. I am a 17 year old catholic girl, considering having sex for the first time. This is with my boyfriend who I love very much, and would consider spending the rest of my life with. However, no sex before marriage seems an incredibly strict boundary, as nowhere in the Bible does it explicitly say it's wrong. Especially when it is taken into consideration that I may never marry, marriage is not something that just happens, and even when it does, it is no longer sacred - just check out the divorce rates. With my boyfriend, sex would not feel to me like a sin, it would feel like a mutual expression of love between us, and how can God make an objection to a feeling of love between two people, and a feeling that they want to be together for the rest of their lives, even if it is not an actualization. The term Catholic is not something which someone should be labeled with and confined by. These 'Catholic school girls' who you say you meet - unless they are describing all the intimate details of their sex lives to you - you are going off they way they look, and indulging in the type of mindless stereotyping which makes the world a worse place to live in. I am not saying 'Hurrah for one night stands', indeed in that case I would consider it to be very much a sin. In the end though, I consider that God would have a lot more to concern himself with than the expression of love between two people who really mean it, even if not in marriage. Consider a marriage where possibly less emotion may be felt, and the partners have simply married each other for the wrong reasons - ie sex. You yourself say that you share more standards with the religion than many Catholics you have met, yet in saying this, and in condemning these girls, and being derisive about their personal choices, you seem to lack the generosity of spirit, which should embody any religion. No one knows what happens when one dies, and religion should be a personal choice - but in what world is love (and love-making) wrong?

I personally think that often Catholicism is a means by which a family identifies themselves with a group. The religion is passed down through generations, until the kids say they are Catholic just because their parents or grandparents were. I went to a Catholic high school before I made the decision to be a Christian, and I agree with what you're saying. That's not to say that I haven't screwed up a bunch of times since, though. The Catholic girls and sex before marriage thing seems like a contradiction, doesn't it? Anyway... happy journeying...

just because a religion teaches something, does not mean the people in the church HAVE to follow it...
honestly, I think its extremely hypocritical to be a member of a church, and not follow it's teachings. or, to pick and choose which ones you want to follow...
but, at the same time, we are all just human, and its not always easy to resist temptaion, especially if the standards weren't encouraged a lot growing up. like, if a girl's parents didn't talk to her a lot about saving yourself till marriage, than its probably not as big a deal to her as to a girl whose parents did.
especially in today's world, where sex is everywhere, the world has made the subject of sex so casual, that its hard to to think about, and be tempted by. when every person we see on tv is having sex, making jokes about it etc. than it probably wouldn't be that big a deal to a lot of people
I'm not catholic, but Ive made the choice to not have sex until Im married, and its the best decision of my life.
and, like the other person said, not all people who go to catholic school are catholic.

girls who go to catholic schools do not choose to go to catholic schools
what better way to rebel against your parents than with premarital sex?
this generation seems to be very unreligous i've notcied, i've only gone to church a few times myself but i still hold firm beliefs in my religon.... except i had premarital sex too... and i'm catholic... hahahahaha so i guess i'm a sinner
premarital sex is more widely accepted today than in years before, with so many divorces in this world people are choosing not to be married at all.
some would deem it sinful, others would just say it's man's evolution of society, religon has lost it's place in today's world, and it needs an overhaul, an upgrading. People are finding it harder and harder to relate to stories that are 2000 years old, the churches are alienating themselves and people are turning to more 'trendy' alternatives
.. plus 'catholic schoolgirls' appears to be a sexual fantasy of most men, so it'll be hard to turn away all that attention...

Pastor Billy says: Facts please. I seem to remember that Billy Joel song where in "Catholic girls start much too late".
Fact is Catholicism outnumbers Protestantism 4 to 1 hence in your lifetime it would be a possibility you're going to come across 4x as many Catholic sinners as it's 4x as numerous to all other Christian communities combine assuming similar percentages of sinners.
Truth is Catholicism doesn't teach girls to be loose that's coming from our current atheist secular culture.
To Heretic when did you get out? when did they release the village idiot?

I think it is young people in general. I don't know why you didn't mention the young men the girls are having sex with...hmmm that is how it usually is. It is interesting to note that when a young lady gets pregnant her family will say, "He got her pregnant". His family will say, "She let him get her pregnant". Weird huh. Mmm
