i am a self emplyed builder and carried out some work for a client and accidently spilt some resin on imprinted concrete and i want to know if i can claim through my public liability insurance

Read the Policy document (you have Insurance and you haven't read the document ????)

You can also ring them up - say you are a Builder etc. thinking of taking out a Policy and would their Policy cover some common accidents .. for example spilt paint or other substances etc.

Probably not. Look at your policy, and the definition of "work product". If the concrete was part of your work product, then only your bond would take care of it, not your insurance. Then, you have to pay the bond back, so that's not usually a good idea.

Now, if the concrete was there before your started the job, that may change the answer

If you mean the public liability on your home insurance no.It is for personal things not work connected.

Unfortunately, most PL policies do not cover the property actually being worked on.
