His Excellency Mahmood Ghaznavi. He kicked A*S 14 times every time the hindus rebelled he kicked b*tt.
The reason he distroyed Somnath was not because he needed the wealth.
If you study history it is said that when he concured the area Hindus brough him lots of gifts and wealth and asked not to touch the temple.. His first Advisor Ayaz asked him what will he like to be remembered as a BUTHSHIKAN (one who breaks idols) or a BUTHFUROSH ?(one who sells idols).
He chose the first.
and yes to set the record straight he was not a mongol he was from Ghazni, Afghanistan and a great conqurer.

Mahmud Ghazni.
Mahmud's armies routinely stripped the temples of their wealth and then destroyed them; Varanasi, Ujjain, Maheshwar, Jwalamukhi, and Dwarka.
On April 30, 1030, Sultan Mahmud died in Ghazni, at the age of 59 years. Sultan Mahmud had contracted malaria during his last invasion. The medical complication from malaria had caused lethal tuberculosis

I am unable to understand what for such type of questions are posed? Is it to test the knowledge of the people?
Everyone can pose a question. It should reflect the sincerity of the person. Then only we call it PARIPRASNA.
Lord Krishna did not teach Gita to Arjuna just for asking. Only after noticing the total faith reposed in him by Arjuna, Lord Krishna came out with Geeta.

Mahmood of Ghazni attacked India and captured Somnath temple where Brahmins (the so called high caste superior human beings) were exploiting others (the so called low caste mean inferiors and untouchables) and had gathered much gold and wealth. He liberated the condemned human beings from their slavery, taught them equality and humanity.
Hinduism categorised human beings in 4 Varnas and classified all others as untouchables. Each Varna has thousands of castes therein. Hindus' worship and prayer is the job of their castes they born in by nature, and nothing else otherwise a sinner. Studying, learning, book education, reciting sacred verses & scripts, attending temples, is the birth right of Brahmins and none can grab or encroach upon it. Hindus cannot change their castes, they born in by nature. All the Central & State Government rules, regulations, laws, notifications and all the judgements of Supreme & High Courts confirm this fact. None can deny this fact. It is based upon sacred teachings of Verses 40-47 Chapter-18 of The Holy Bhagavad Gita (translated below):
"""There is no being existing on the Earth, in the celestial spheres or in any universal planetary system which is free from the influence of these three modes of born of material nature. O Arjuna, the activities of the brahmanas, ksatriyas, vaisyas and sudras are clearly divided according to the qualities born of their own nature. The actions of a brahmana arising from his own nature are serenity, self-control, austerity, purity, tolerance, honesty, knowledge of the Vadas, wisdom and firm faith. The actions of a Ksatriya born of his own nature are heroism, exuberance, determination, resourcefulness, without trace of cowardice in battle, generosity and leadership. The actions of a vaisya born of his own nature are agriculture, cow protection and trade, also the actions of a sudra born of his own nature consists in service to brahmanas, ksatriyas and vaisyas. Following each his own activity, a man achieves finally perfection, now hear how he performer of action prescribed according to qualification attains perfection. From whom is the existence of all living entities, by whom all this is pervaded, through worshipping Him, by ones own actions prescribed according to qualification a man achieves perfection. Ones righteous duty imperfectly done is better than another’s duty done perfectly; by performing actions predicated according to ones own nature sinful one does not incur sinful reactions. Actions prescribed according to ones nature must not be given up. O Arjuna, even if defective; since all endeavors are covered with defects as fire is covered by smoke."""
