I think I asked Jesus into my heart at age 8, 11, 12,13...and felt nothing- because I did it out of fear of hell. But Jesus knew I was only a child, and not at the point (that He chooses) to make that decision..When I was 26, I was finally ready, for real. I really meant it, I really wanted it, and I was really ready. You have to understand, that just saying the words is not what God weighs. He weighs our hearts; and we have to be ready, and I truelly 100% believe that God heard me, all those times, and He watched out for me, and knew that someday I would mean it and understand it. It is wonderful to want God, and He knows your heart. God also knows our intentions. Sometimes we don't however. When I was old enough to really willingly give my life up, and let Him have my will; then yes,I felt a great comfort, an amazing peace, that words cannot express. When I am obeidiant to Him, that sense of wholeness and closeness is present. When I do my own thing, and live without obeying, that peace is not there. That is how He keeps me in check. I love His presence. The more I grow, (pray&read) the more I understand, and the more I understand, the more I change,(put into action the will of God) the more I change, the more the Holy Spirit of God is in control and I am not who I once was before knowing Him. The closer I become to Him. The beginning is salvation. I really believe if I had died before truelly understanding that my childhood prayers were in vain; that I still would have gone to heaven; because I didn't know any different. Good thing God weighs the heart!!!!

When I received Jesus I had a feeling of relief and joy. I kept hearing the song:" I'm walking on sunshine". The peace that passes all understanding is happening now...fourteen years later. I just know He has it all under control. He is so good. Don't we just adore him!!! God bless you.

Quite the opposite.
The moment that I finally decided to dump belief in a myth was when I felt exhilaration; the lifting of a burden from me.
I have thus enjoyed about 53 years of atheism and am so happy that I saw the truth.

I suppose Christianity never did cut it for me, I was Christian for half my life and I felt this hole withn me, an empty feeling, a cognitive dissonance. I suppose that I also why I'm atheist now, I feel the beauties of this world are no longer weighted by the belief of a god, and that the intricate and infinite complexities of this world no longer have that artificial taint.

The peace you feel is what happens when you stop being an ego and start being your true self. It has nothing to do with joining a religion or accepting a god.

Yes but be carefull on this "feeling" thing, we accept God at His Word and do not when you understand your not taking a verse out of context, when you understand God's commandments, when you understand He said in 1 John 1:9 "IF" you confess your sins He is faithfull and just to forgive us our sins "AND" Cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. and received Jesus means more then just faith, it means action, in James 2:19-20 we are told even satan "believes" and trembles, in John 14:15 it says "IF" you Love me THEN keep my commandments. Receiving Christ is a lot but its the WALK not just the TALK that counts with God, when Jesus returns Jesus the second member of The Godhead as it says in Rev. 22:12 rewards everyone according to there "WORKS" not there talk. I believed I wrestled Jesus in San Diago in 1975. I took his robe and left him butt naked then he tried to run but i really kicked his *** then.threw in out into the first row. He may not have been the real deal, but i think i put him out of the business. Some Jesus. That i all I know about Jesus.
