I would imagine you should at least be on an ACE-inhibitor or ARB, primarily because of your diabetes, but a diuretic is likely also indicated for the edema (depending on the severity). There are many medicinal preparations that combine ARBs with thiazide or loop diuretics -- your doctor can help decide what's best for you.
