Their job is to sell vehicles. It isn't necessarily a scam, it is what they do. There are dealerships out there that teach their salesmen how to "sell" the wrong way, but there are reputable dealerships that sell the right way. It also depends on the salesperson, and their values. Good and decent sales people don't just sell the vehicle, but care about their customers and follow through to make sure the customer is satisfied. And like any other profession, there are the bad apples out there that take advantage of their customers, and just get them to buy the vehicle and don't care once they get their commission. I have worked with both. And sometimes it is hard to tell the good guys from the bad ones. They don't wear white and black hats!!

Because all we "the Customer" are to him is his "money".

I actually took a sales man position(lasted 2 months) and could not believe every passing second of the the training, I was shocked at how and what they train. I will never call that a job again, and i know a few things too, if i ever go to a dealership for a car.
