I recently had arelationship with a single father. He was the one to inciate the relationship. Took me out to dinner, bought me flowers( basically sweeped me off my feet). The first week was great, but slowly after 3 weeks, announces that he isn't ready for a relationship. His last relationship lasted about 6 years and resulted in his 5 yr old son. It ended about 6 months ago. Need help, I just can't understand how a person can change their mind like that.

He got to know you better, and realised that he wasn't that interested. He told you he wasn't ready for a relationship to protect your feelings. Sorry, happens all the time.

Lets look at the reality of this " relationship" . There wasn't one. When a man takes you out to dinner and brings you flowers it is a nice gesture but it doesn't mean you are in a relationship, it means that you went to dinner and he brought you flowers. He had to announce it because you were ready for something he wasn't.

from experience it is in all men to treat a lady like a lady but the harsh reality is that we can't handle emotional pain and to know that those lost feeling might be back for round two might just be too much for him right now so be a friend and give it time how we were in the beginning is our true self

probably exactly what he said, he wasn't ready for a realationship. he could have feeling for his ex still, or just doesn't want to put his son through his daddy dating and constanly having a "lady friend" over, or he may simply not like you.
