First, it is impossible to "convert" someone to evolutionism any more than it is possible to "convert" someone to gravitationism. Conversion is a religious process from one belief system to another. Evolutionism doesn't exist except in the minds of creationists.
Evolution is simply the observation that physical systems change over time and that the current state of any physical system can be understood as the result of prior states. Evolution with respect to biology, the discipline where the observation first occured, describes how biological systems change with time.
It is a fact, observed currently in human DNA changes, that we are evolving. Further, new species, literally scores of them, have been observed at their beginning. We have observed new species spontaneously form from others.
What Darwin did different from for example Newton was that he was the first scientist to fully describe his theory in terms of nature alone. No God was requied for it to occur. He didn't say one did not exist, but none is required.
That is now true for all the sciences. Science is now just as valid for a Buddhist an atheist or a Christian. Biological, chemcial, geological and other systems work and are described the same way regardless of the religion of the observer.
No one is trying to convert anyone, but since the alternative simply doesn't fit the observed facts at all, it is a lie and it is wrong to teach lies.
The truth is that cultural ideas like creationism are religious not scientific beliefs. When creationism proclaims itself a correct understanding of the world, then it becomes part of the realm of science. As such, it must respond to science by showing the clear evidence in the physical world it is correct. Scripture does not count as evidence. There are literally billions of pieces of evidence collected and none of it supports creationism.
In my own humble opinion, the reason almost every Christian denomination supports evolution is that the evidence is so clear that it will be irrelevant soon if it continues to argue over it. Those who do not are trapped in a mediaeval argument over whether or not scripture alone is the source of truth. Strict observance of sola scriptura traps one into creationism. It may be true that God created the universe, but if it is then sola scriptura is strictly falsified. The problem isn't the idea of a God, it is sola scriptura, which is a sixteenth century human invention anyway. No Christian prior to that would have supported that idea. There is a new translation out of the apostolic fathers, the people who knew the apostles and were trained by them. I suggest you read them, you may find yourself a different Christianity.

You're talking nonsense. Evolutionism doesn't exist. Being an atheist does not mean that you accept evolution (although you'd be mad not to). Scientists are the ones that say evolution is real. A large number of atheists and the majority of christians, including the Vatican, agree with them. The evidence for evolution is overwhelming and there is NO other scientific theory.

If you saw that a young child was going to cross a busy road without looking both ways first and assessing that it was safe to do so, would you stay silent?
If I see that someone is deluded and making a mistake by believing in a fictitious man-made god, it is very tempting to suggest that they open their eyes and see the reaility.
In truth, I don't care what you believe in provided that you don't push such folly into government, into education of the children and use it as an excuse to destroy rather than create. When religious fundamentalists do just those things, I believe that it is time to stand up and do the little bit that I can to open peoples' eyes to the truth.
Evolution is just one element in that truth. There are many others.
Whether you or I think we are smarter or dumber is another element that bears debate.
Up to you.
Your question suggests that you are not as smart as you think you are.

Okay, I will first separate "evolutionism" from Atheism. I've never met a scientist in the world who viewed evolutionism with the same faith and cold hard belief that Theists do. I've only seen Evolutionism been brought up by Theists who want to quickly put down evolutions theories in a simple manner.
As for Atheism, yes, I suppose it is a religion, but it is difficult to categorize it. Would you say your disbelief in every other god in this world a religion? I doubt it. So I think the debate is still open.

A conversion is "an adventure linked with the specific and decisive adoption of a faith." ok, Atheism isn't a faith, yet a perception. And specific, there's a brilliant distinction. a faith is a collection of practices, generally in line with particular claims approximately certainty and human nature, and oftentimes coupled with prayer, ritual, and/or religious regulation. perception is a state wherein a individual holds an concept to be real or valid. In different words, Suzie may be Catholic, yet have faith that abortion is oka y and justified (i'm no longer stereotyping, purely offering an occasion). So, Atheism is an concept that persons carry to be real. you ought to assert that that's a loss of religion, that's, in maximum circumstances, real, yet no longer constantly. maximum religious human beings (Christians, Jews, etc.) are Theists (the alternative of Atheist) meaning that they beleive in one or many gods. human beings associate Atheism with faith because of the fact maximum religions stick to a theist outlook. hence, Atheists do no longer oftentimes feet right into a significant religious classification, because of the fact maximum mainstream religions are theistic. i desire that form of made sense... And to respond to your unique question, as an atheist, no, I somewhat have in no way converted every physique.

For the same reason that religious people feel compelled to ask and answer question's in an attempt to convert people to believe in magical fairy tales about a 6 day creation and the magical parting of the sea and so forth. No Atheism is not a religion. But if people who are religious continue to force their beliefs in every facet of life then you can bet that the Atheists will fight back by teaching science and common sense over myths and magic. And, yes, I believe that the Bible, Torah, Koran, and other such books are man written myths that use history to tell a magical story.

Wanting to teach people about something you think it's important to know about doesn't mean you have a religion.
Let's imagine you consider that black and Asian people are subhuman. If I try to "convert" you to into understanding that this is not the case, does that make "non-racism" a religion?
Besides, there are people who accept evolution by natural selection who aren't atheists. There are Christian evolutionary biologists. There are probably one or two atheists who think life on earth is all the result of creation by extra-terrestrial beings.

First of all, Atheism is a religion. Its the belief that there is no god, not necessarily evolutionism. Those are totally different. :)
Atheists try to convert for the same reasons Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc do. Because they think it is the right, and only, way to believe.
Who cares? People are going to believe what they want to believe, regardless what is pushed upon them, what's shoved down their throats, and what's jammed into their brains. :D

Actually the courts have ruled that Atheism is a religion.

Oh and just as an aside, they really don't like when you call them "Evolutionists" or say "Evolutionism," it is derogatory in their mind.
If you want to actually open up a conversation, start by saying something like "teaching the scientific theory of Evolution as fact," or something along those lines.
Oh and one last thing: There are Christians who believe in the literal 6 day creation model as told in Genesis and do not believe the theory of Evolution; they are called Young Earth Creationists.
There are Christians who believe in the creation model but think that a "day" as described in Genesis can mean several thousand years and they are not sure if Evolution is the tool that God used or not. They are called Old Earth Creationists.
And lastly there are Christians who believe that Genesis should be liberally translated and that perhaps God used Evolution as a tool to bring about humanity. This is called Theistic Evolution.

Atheism is not a religion. Period. Look up the definition if you are confused.
In regards to some atheists who wish to promote evolution, consider it the necessary defense of scientific education. Christians, and theists in general, have been on a rampage to ban any scientific theories that disagree with their religious beliefs. They don't care for the facts behind the numerous scientific theories they fight, and don't care how asinine their own pseudo-science is that they wish to peddle as legitimate.
As long as theists fight to force their RELIGIOUS beliefs into the PUBLIC education system, there will be rational people to fight back.
