First of all, the marks are not life threatening- although they may be esthetically unpleasing. In a newborn, birthmark pigmentation is a changeable thing and it is really hard to say exactly how much, how extensive and how dark it will stay. Some fading will happen as time passes. A dermatologist can sometimes use lasar therapy on pigmented birthmarks like cafe au lait, with good effect. It takes several treatments spaced over a few months time, and it is not cheap. Some insurance companies and HMO's won't pay for it at all either. And I don't think a dermatologist would be willing to treat an infant that small at all. But you could certainly consult one for better answers, and advice for the future. In the meantime, I'm sure your baby is beautiful and has a dear little face, and you need to learn to look beyond the skin.

My son was also born with a strawberry birthmark over his left eye. If faded by the time he was 14 mos old. He is now 24 and there is no trace of it. If you are still concerned ,mention it to your pediatrician and ask if it worth worrying over on your next baby check up!

i strongly suggestion you that a dermatologist seem at it just to be sure that it is not risky. reckoning on the colour and length of the birthmark purely a doctor could have the skill to tell you the spectacular medical care obtainable to you. whilst it come on your youngster's well being i do no longer have confidence a cream will suffice. please do take it sluggish and visit a doctor. My sister underwent surgical technique to eliminate a birthmark that would probably have became cancerous. all of it began starting to be with age and if the birthmark is on the face then i think that's ultimate to be taken care of at the same time as the youngster continues to be youthful and could no longer understand what's happening.

i have heard of many birthmarks on infants to fade within a few years. while others dont. but there is many other things than that to worry about with your new infant rather than this. just give it time and see what happens.

My youngest brother has one on his ear, cheek and down his neck. When he was around 10 they used a Lazar to lighten it. It won't completely go away, but if it is bothersome to the child then you should consider something like that when it is older.
