your Grand cherokee has the high output in-line 6. the reason i know this is because 87-90 are the low output in-line sixes rated at 177hp and 220ft lbs of torque, and all the in-line sixes 91-06 are the high output rated at 190hp and 220ft lbs of torque. hope this helps

I own a shop, and you have two clues here. One: would be the word stock, and two would be: in-line six.
