The beauty of a flower is not the physical petals but the impression that it leaves on your heart and in your mind. The soft velvet feel of the petals lasts in your memory for a lifetime and the rich deep color of a rose an the smell stays with you forever. Just like human flesh - it is here today and gone tommorrow. Just like a rose life plucks the petals of our youth away and we appear physically old with just a dried out stem. No one wants to look at you then. Yet you are far from worthless if those petals of your life left behind beautiful memories, love, values and imprints on the lives of others that will go on from generation to generation in the heart. Therefore, you cannot steal the beauty of a flower by plucking it's petals as the passage of time cannot steal the beauty of a human being.

Well, you could take it as a metaphor for like a person ^___^. Just like if all the petals of a flower was plucked off, one sitll acknowlegdes it as a flower, which automatically relates to the idea that flower = beauty! In other words, as i thikn it applies to people is:
Age doesnt matter. As a person grows physically older and loses pysical beauty, don't think that it is truely lost! One who can see the beauty of a petal less flower will understand ^__^!

When the petals are plucked, the flower is being robbed of what people see on the oustside as beatuty, this means for people the things they do or the way they act on the outside to make themselves become what the world sees as beauty. But for the flower and as for people, when all those things are taken away, its whats on the indiside that makes you beautiful.

The parts separated do not equal the whole.
Completeness is key to the beauty and definition of what we call the flower.
For example, truth, it's beauty lies in its completeness. We cannot take this part, and that part and apply the bits and pieces we want and still have the truth. It loses it's subtle strength and intoxicating power.
It becomes a mess when we try to cobble it together.

when applied to humans, the beauty (equated to goodness, personality, character, and not just physical characteristics) of a person can not be taken away just by making the person ugly (i.e., make the physical apperance unpleasant to the eye). that "beauty" is within.
