Yes depending on the actual cause - some UTI can be caused by e. coli...and if that gets to the kidneys and is untreated...your kidneys are vital to life. If your kidneys shut down, you won't live long without dialysis. That is the worst scenario of course.
If you have a low grade annoying symptoms such as: pain on urination, cloudy, foul smelling urine, pink (blood) tinged urine, low back pain, pelvic pain, and passing only small amounts with a major urge to go - GET IT CHECKED by a doctor! You will probably need antibiotics.
Some bladder infections can be from STD's - so your dr can test you for those too.
You don't want to leave it too long or permenant damage can occur to the kidneys. Plus if it gets worse, the pain will be enough for you to go to the ER or clinic.

yes. if u do not treat it infection will go up to kidneys and if your kidneys fail u will die. but of course it should take very long time. why dont' u cure bladder infection? all it takes a simple urine test and then a course of antibiotics for 5 days
