Humanity is only one race, the human race. They have diversified themselves along the centuries, so becoming high, tall, black, white, yellow, nose long, large, little, hair blond, red, maroon and so on for every look or characteristic of the human life. There you are every kind of ethnicity. The speech it's longer, this is only to simplify. Anthropology is the science studying all that.
The word 'ethnicity' derives from ancient Greek 'éthnos', and it means "people", the adjective is 'ethnic' from ''ethnikòs".
