My BF was raised by very religious parents and sex was something of a taboo. He is over 30 and was married for a long time but it was a similar situation i think to his growing up years. We have been living together for quite a while now and he is very shy and embarassed about sex and saying he wants to try something new. I always have to suggest things. How do I get him to open up more and realize that sex is more than a missionairy possition with the lights off?

I don't think it has to do with how he was raised. If he is unwilling to have s ex then he must really like you. I presume his marriage was somewhat hurtful to him. That is why he would like to do things a little differently than his last relationship, because he doesn't want the same outcome. Taking control is his way of doing things differently.

Figure out what his religion allows, sexually, and frowns on sexually and try not to push too far into the "dark side", unless he turns out to be into that.

You risk, by even showing more interest than he is, alienating and scaring him by not following the ideal in his head that defines a "nice girl". In spite of him saying he wants to.

Beyond that, all you can do is try new things you read about or hear about in a tentative manner to give him the chance to either tell you he likes it or let you know that you're scaring him.

Do things to him that you would like him to do it back. Like give him head and then tell him to try and go down on you. When he does other things for the first time keep doing them and little by little change them up a bit. Just start off slow then later he'll open up.

Just show him, could be he feels he can't 'talk' about sex. Next time your in the mood take him right there in the living room and tell him you want to keep the lights on... Or better yet grab him first thing in the morning with daylight in the bedroom. Show him what you like and how you like it...

ez into it. go slow. if you go too fast he might freak. just do little things and move up. like having him lick whip cream off you or something he likes, just go slowly, then when the time is right he will.

You cant do a thing for him. It isn't him so dont ask him to pretend to be something he ain't.
