I have the same thing. I had it on both feet - the doctor and the pharmacist both recommended against Lamisil. The fungus is completely harmless - unsightly, but harmless. Lamisil can cause liver damage. Even if it's 1:1000, I have crappy luck - there's no way I was going to damage my liver to save a toenail.
I used a topical treatment. You apply it every night, then take it off once a week. Completely cleared one foot, only somewhat worked on the other. Eventually the bad foot cleared, but it still doesn't look as good as the first foot.
Can't remember what the topical was, but it was OK. Your doctor will know. Take the warning on Lamisil seriously - don't want to screw up your liver.

Hi Johnny
Lamisil Tablets are arguably the most powerful nail fungus treatment availlable - they work by entering the bloodstream and attacking the fungus from within. Lamasil is a prescribed treatment and a visit to your doctor is an absolute must before undertaking any treatment orally.
You have probably read about the possible side affects that tablet form medication can have - Liver/Kidney damage etc...you must remember that although there is a risk attached in most causes the effects are mild and only temporary for the duration of the course. Depending on how strong your constition is you will not have to change your lifestyle to compensate - usually the course last for 3 months. This can be very expensive though.
If you do decide to go the Lamasil route - even after the course has finished you will not be totally fungus free - a reoccurrence of the infection may be likely.
Try a natural cure as a preventative after your prescribed course using something you may have already in your home (ie vinegar, Listerine, Tea Tree Oil etc...)
One thing to note is do not combine types of medication simultaneously (ie Lamasil and Listerine)
For now - why not try the natural remedy FIRST for one month and gauge the improvement in your nails - if you see no improvement THEN choose prescibed oral medication.

I've the same problems before, but now its cured.
At the beginning, it starts with itchness. Later. all the finger nails & toe nails, even the palm start to pop up small waterbags. I don't know what is that liquid - its a bit sticky.
Many says that its the washing detergent that caused this. There are others saying that is the air pollution.
No matter what caused this to happen, I've tried to seek for medication, especially Skin Specialist. This really cost me a lot. No improvement.
One day, my sister told me to try 'Lamisil'. One type is through mouth (tablets) & the other to apply (cream). Yes, it really helps me. I can see improvement! (When I'm on medication, I avoid all seafoods, any foods that is consider poison).
Luckily, when I see my pair of hands & feet are as smooth as before, then only, my sister asked me not to take too much of the tablets bcos of the side effects!
Till now, I did'nt go for the check-up whether there's any damage to the liver, lung or heart.
Before continuing with the medicine, you should better consult your Doctor or Pharmacist how much dosage you can take.
Good Luck!

Go to the MD and get a precription for Diflucan. You have to kill this fungus from the inside. Diflucan is a pill made by Pfizer and it works really well for this.

the pills should work, I mean wouldn't you expect so for 15 bucks a pop?
You can run around, the pills of course work internally.
