My 21st is coming up and I want to be able to out-drink my friends. I haven't drank in quite a while so my tolerance in fairly low. I know I should eat a good meal before I go out, but what should I eat? Also, any other suggestions on how to hold my own would be fantastic! Or any first drink/shot suggestions....

look like you're outdrinking your friends by only drinking when you are doing some sort of necessary birthday shot. there will be lots of them. dont sip on beers in between. no one will notice if thats what youre worried about. drink water as you go to keep yourself hydrated. binge drinking is really dangerous, if you have a low tolerance, it's even more dangerous for you. rock out and have a wicked time, but don't get so wasted you puke or forget your celebration. and eat a meal of whole grains and lean protein so your body has a lot to process over a long time.

"I've done the research myself personally!" and I can share with you that drinking lots milk and or eating greasy foods does it for me beforehand. I Also found that starting out by consuming small amounts of alcohol days before helps your body to adapt. Anyways, By gradually drinking in moderate amounts so your body learns to adapt to your heavy binge drinking on your big night might accomplish what you want. Which isn't much. Believe me. Its not worth it. Just drink in moderation. And if you do decide to drink like you never have before, well then remember to be safe and don't dare drive a car. Hope this helps.

Yeah, eat some potatoe foods beforehand. And a bartender friend told me this helpful piece of advice....drink 2 large glasses of water before going out drinking, drink 1 large glass of water in the midst of your drinking and drink 2 large glasses of water after your night of drinking and you probably won't have a hangover. The hangover is just your brain dehydrated...so I recommend some water shots so you are not sick the whole next day.

I would try to limit my mixing of drinks. If you stick to one thing...like beer....you'll feel a lot better and be able to drink a lot more than if you go between beer and the hard stuff.

I've also heard that if you do drink hard liquor, the clear ones are less likely to make you sick the next day. I guess you're not really worried about the next day though, are you?

And don't drink doubles, that's for sure!

Okay, stupid, how about realizing that a drink or two a couple of nights a week is normal and everyone enjoys four drinks at a friend's house or on a holiday. Other than your birthday or New Year's Eve, you are not allowed to get drunk. Which sounds contradictory, but eight drinks on your birthday as opposed to dumb drinking games where you finally pass out after twenty equals John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, may Buddha bless him, R.I.P. Those are two different things.

Eat a ton of popcorn. I know it sounds weird but it does a good job absorbing the alcohol. I would drink liquor all night. Beer fills you up and can be harder to keep down if you are a lightweight. Remember to not overdue it. Dont wanna wind up in the hospital on your big day!

my suggestion would be to go back to high school cause you don't sound like you're a 21 year old drinker but after that other than the eating well beforhand, you cannot change how your body will react to alcohol consumption, 3. Have a vodka lime or tequila but i can't promis you'll outdrink your friends. well maybe you can but you just you know get either way more drunk then them or get alcohol poisoning.

eat bready items like fries. it's just a rumour, but people say bread helps absorb the liquid.

i'm not a big drinker, but i can hold my own with my musician friend on a good day, so i must be doing something right.

also, water is your friend. it'll curb the hangover you're bound to get.

enjoy!

Did you know that binge drinking is not only dangerous, but incredibly stupid? Who are you gonna impress? Your friends or yourself?
