A lot of times tendinitis will be from overuse, and it is hard to get better if you are still using that tendon. Resting the tendon is very important. If you are still doing something at work that hurts your wrist, you should stop doing it. It sounds like that is what your doctor is saying, and your employer should honor that. Good luck in dealing with the people at work and I hope you are able to find a way to rest your tendon.

Given the proper treatment, a tendinitis will last anywhere from 3-6 weeks. One prerequisite, however, is to get rid of the predisposing and precipitating factors causing the tendinitis after treatment. Think you will be able to do that? In your case it may mean a change of jobs.
