It sounds like my stereo could power the sub woofer better. The amp is not in protect. and sound does come out of the amp, just not loud (or remotely enough) sound.

I installed it, I have been doing instals for about 4 years (as a hobby). Also my wiring is 4 gauge, and nothing is up with the wireing because I can hook up my other amp and it works fine.(kenwood 600 watt). Also I took apart the amp and the board and all the parts are fine nothing burned out or water damaged. Im baffeled.

is it motorboating or saturated? Hopefully not, but from what you say its not in SAFE MODE...

How bout your connections, make sure your getting +12.66vDC or in that range to your amp from the battery
Hopefully you have 4AWG wiring, that should be good enough for your amp.

How are your HU settings or AMP settings, try fiddling with those for the mean time

You can boost the signal from the HU, but using some extra wiring and a relay. If you need the lay-out let me know, love to help you out.

Be sure that you are getting enough juice to the amp. Make sure you're running a heavy enough gauge wire for its power leads. Are you running RCA into it, or line level inputs? If it's line level, make sure your head unit is balanced/faded accordingly. The problem is most likely in the wiring to the amp, or the headunits output signal to the amp not being very strong.

Is the gain set right? The purpose of the gain is to match the signal volts RMS of the HU to the amp.

This guide will help:

You'll need Microsoft Excel, a mutli-meter (AC volt meter) and and a way to burn an audio CD from an MP3.

Who installed it.? Take it back and ask them. I've seen some really fat wires installed to carry the current giving you what you need. Some amps have two fuses. Check both of them.
