We're probably no different to girls - a personal touch, a tidy and welcoming home and the feeling of being safe in the flat is probably all that matters. I would imagine that most guys though are happy with whatever they see as long as the place is comfortable and there aren't pictures of exes all over the place!

Well, you already said the truth to it. Your home reflects your personality. Also, it is a great give away as to the way you treat yourself.
Personally, EVERY small detail counts.
Are there books?-She is intelligent/educated/or withdrawn.
Is it clean?-She is self-concerned/protective/or a
germaphobe.
Is the furniture leather, cloth, colorful, etc.-She is wealthy/
vibrant/concerned with appearance or comfort.
What is in the kitchen?-She is picky/tasteful/open/
simplistic.
Are there pets?-She has a kid substitute or just playful.
Does she live alone?-She is self-supporting or a bum.
Are there plants?-She can take care of things in need or
just to lazy.
Are there pictures?-She either is to plan, has only photos
of family and friends, or are there past loves which
means she is clingy. Yikes!
Does she rent or own?-Financially wise or waiting for
something to happen for her.
Anyway, every little thing counts. Oh yea, you could pretty much just assume that what you look for in a man's house he will probably look for in yours.

As long as the home is CLEAN, I am comfortable.
Music, books, furniture, etc. doesn't really effect me. As long as I have a comfortable place to sit, I am good.
The only "decor" that would make me feel uncomfortable would be picture frames containing pics of the girl and exboyfriends sitting around all over the place.
Other than that, it always makes me feel more comfortable when the girl offers me a beer or a glass of wine.

Well you are right about two things...one...you shouldn't change anything about your home and two it is different for most guys I would think. Now this may sound crazy but I think the thing most guys would agree on is to smell something cooking. Even though we are manly men we often will hearken back to what is familiar to us which is our home when growing up.So if we go in your home and smell something cooking it will probably conjure up pleasant thoughts of growing up at home. The other thing is I think a guy would like a home that's not to "busy" visually. In other words not cluttered with too much furniture or art or flowers or knick knacks...what the hell is a knick knack anyway. Just some thoughts...Good Luck!

although most of the things you mentioned depend on the guy, having no signs of another man is a good way to keep him at ease, having family photos here and there shows good character (somewhat) and if the guy shows any sign of being religious, don't go overboard, but just having your bible (or whatever religious text you prefer) on a bookshelf, and not dusty lol.
Having a clean home is always nice, and don't have a lot of breakables out, it can unconsciously put a guy on edge.

I'd want to see it exactly how she likes it. I would expect it to be relatively clean and well kept, but other than that, I'm pretty broad minded and of the opinion one should do things as they see fit, not worry about what others might think. I'd think more of the lady if she isn't afraid to show me her true colours.

Would need to be clean and tidy without those pink accessories or frilly curtains.
Hate to see pictures of the 'ex' on the sideboard or would have to be removed quickly after the relationship developed.
No pets, no smoking, no drugs!
You see I am easy to please.

Honestly most guys don't care whats in your home as long as you have a bed..
The only thing that would bother me i guess.. was if her home smelled bad and or was so messy it had roaches..
