A hurting bunion is due to minor repeated trauma , wear softer shoes, comercially available bunion shields are available in drug stores as well as an antiinflammatory cream off shelf.

Get yourself to a podiatrist and have him evaluate it. I had my bunions (one on each foot) taken out and its the best thing I ever did. No more burning pain or pain from shoes or walking. Its not a big deal and there is not a lot of pain. I'm so glad I had it done. But go see a podiatrist and he can defintely help you, even if you don't want surgery. Good luck!

Go to a foot clinic. Chances are they will tell you to have surgery. That will be your best bet (corrective surgery)
