the best thing to get would be proactive because body washes sometimes have fragrances that irritate the skin even more

Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.

In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.

Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.

In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.

If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

Look on eBay for proactive solution. You can buy it for half the price the company sells it for. They have stuff for face and body, look at the proactive website to compare prices on eBay. I also use Neutrogena body scrub. It comes in a tall bottle, its orange and has little scrubbing beads. Works great and smells great..only about $5 and you can buy it anywhere.
There is no cure for acne but you can buy things that will prevent breakouts. Its caused by hormones and dirt. With any soap..if you clean up and stop using it it will all come back. You HAVE to wash everyday! If it gets really bad go to a clinic or see a dermatologist if you have medical. They can give you shots or special creams that will work way better than anything at the store

Well the body shop makes an entire line of tea tree oil products- and they will utterly get rid of any acne that you may have. They do make a body wash. I have had better luck lately though, being older and my skin is not so oily although i still get the occasional breakout- with Alba Organics Foaming facial wash. I use it on my neck and shoulders as well as my face and it works wonders. You might also consider using a toner like Doc Thayer's Witch Hazel on your back or chest as well. I do that sometimes just to get the hair dye off if i spill- and it works well for that, or general skin clearing.

I think you need a good lufa and exfoliate -
don't use something that has deod. soap [stick to dove] or even an oxy face wash the first few times to dry out the acne and keep using a daily lufa in the bath/shower.

Do not use anything with mineral oil and if this doesn't clear up see your doctor about something that will.

Arbonne makes a daily supplement with their acne line and I am sure it would help clear up the body too.

You can pretty much use the same acne products on your face that you use on your body as your face is more sensitive than your back or your chest. But if you would prefer to use a product specifically for body acne Neutrogena has a product called Body Clear: Body Wash.

Our doctor recommended Phisoderm-- about $4 for a typical sized bottle of body wash. Smells pretty enough for me and manly enough for him and works well. Found at just about any pharmacy in the soap section.
