Almost every single morning, when I wake up I feel that I have not had enough sleep, It doesn't matter if I've been sleeping for 4 hours or 14, I always wake up groggy and feel that I need to go back to sleep. I often spend the rest of the day yawning and feeling tired and irritable. Does anyone know what could be wrong with me?

Thanks, Rachael.

My friend you have a problem called sleep apnia..you need to see your family doctor and he will send you to a sleep clinic where you will be asked to spend the night there wired to some machines that monitior what happens during your sleep. My friend Gord had the same problems..and after the sleep study they foung out that he woke up over 300 times a night and neve reached REm sleep wich is the most important part of sleep to regenerat the mind and body..sleep comes in different stages..Alpha.Delta and Finally REM sleep wich means Rapid Eye Movement ..after he got diagnosed with Apnea and got help for it the first night he slept porperly he said the next day he woke up feeling better than he had in over 10 years..so go and see your doctor and get him to reffer to you for a sleep study ..good luck

It's called sleep apnea. It's a sleeping disorder. I know I have it. What it is. It's when you get relaxed there's a flap (don't remember name) in you're throat. When you sleep it closes (not suppose to) It causes you're in flow of air to stop. Causing you're mind to wake and tell you're body to breath. SYMPTOMS Include: Waking with a headache,Always tired, Severe snoring, Involuntary muscle spasms while relaxing, Waking with body parts still asleep. You really need to get a sleep study done. You're local hospital can help with that. Insurance does cover test. It CAN kill you if not treated.
