Infections are perhaps the most common complication with body piercings. Symptoms include increased pain, increased redness and an increase in the amount and thickness of the discharge. The infected discharge is usually thick and yellow, green or grey and may have an unusual odor. Consult with your physician or piercer and do not remove the jewelry until you seek advice. Removing the jewelry can allow the piercing to close over the infection and create an even worse problem: a closed abscess beneath the skin.

My advice would be:::::
Wash the area very well, avoid alcohol and peroxide it will only dry out the wound and make it more irritated.
If possible, coat the ring/bar bell with neosporin and try to push it back through the hole.
It will be painful but it is possible, you need to get ahold of the infection before it gets worse. Also contact the shop where you went and speak to your piercer. Tat and piercing shops will almost always help you with any aftercare problems.
Because they want you to come back and get more, and they don't want bad word of mouth spread around.

I have industrials in both ears, and I developed a horrible infection right after the first done. Alot of the same symptoms you're having.
I just had to stick it out, kept my hands clean before I touched it. Washed it 4x daily and ran neosporin through the holes after.

Please have it checked out as soon as possible!

P.S. I love how everyone starting talking about enclosed infections after I did ;)

You should never remove the jewelry in an infected piercing and furthermore, new piercings are red and there can be swelling. The pus that is leaking may have been normal; as long as its not green, stringy or smelly you don't have an infection.

At this point, stop putting the bandaid on it and its good that you keep the area clean, but you'll want to check with your piercer and they'll be able to reinsert jewelry so the infection can drain and you'll want to do salt soaks to help flush fluids from the hole until it closes.

Also do a hot compress on the area to help with drawing out the infection as well.

Do not use Neosporin, Bactine, peroxide, rubbing alcohol and other harsh cleaners. While they work for some, the usually cause more harm than good.

You're not supposed to take a piercing out until it is fully healed! Now, the outside skin will close up and trap the infection and pus. The pus needs to drain. No bandaids, no neosporin, no alcohol, and no Q-tips or cotton balls. Get some liquid Dial at the store and start with that once a day. If that doesn't clear up the infection, get some sea salt and mix it with warm water and soak the piercing for about 10 minutes everyday.

It probably wasn't infected, but if you think it was, go see a doctor. If it is you should not have removed the jewelry, as you can trap the infection inside.

Bactine and neosporin are not to be used on puncture wounds. Alcohol and peroxide will dry it out and make it take longer to heal. Do sea salt soaks, and leave it alone. Don't use soap to clean it, it's too harsh.

Think about healing times before you get your next piercing. All piercings take longer than a week to heal.

no soap, that may irriatate it more. Use a cream like neosporn or whatever that stuff is and a bandaid. And shange it often. You may not have been taking care of it right or your body just rejected it. When I got preg I had to take everything out becuase they would get infected but as soon as I had the baby I put them all back in and it was fine. Just rinse it with water. Are you just afraid of the infection? You can put it back it and still treat the infection. It will hurt worse to heal if you take it out. Also take some tylenol, that will help with pain and swelling.

Believe it or not, Band-aid Antiseptic Wash works great. That's what I used for all of my piercings when I wasn't able to just go to a sink and wash them. It also has a mild anesthetic to help relieve pain at the same time as cleaning it. I recommended it to an old co-worker since she said her daughter had a lot of redness around her navel piercing and it was also a little swollen. A few days later, she told me that she tried it and it cleared up the redness, wasn't hurting anymore, and the swelling had gone down.

Go back to your piercer, he can clean it up for you. See, the problem with this, is that if you have an infection and you took the jewelry out, the piercing can actually heal around the infection holding it inside the body.

Your best bet until you can see your piercer is to use isopropyl alcohol to dry it out a bit, and use hot compresses on the area to try to draw out some of the infection.

Care for it as you would an open wound. If the piercer gave you any solution, use it. If not get something similar to H20cean or Bactine and use it until it heals. Don't touch it with dirty hands, that will make the infection worse.

That sucks you had to go through that! Hope it gets better soon!

do not problem, maximum piercing studios do not clarify a thanks to eliminate a captive bead ring and maximum folk struggled to eliminate it on our own the first time too. ;) What you basically favor to do it carry onto both area of the ring on both area of the ball and dad the ball ahead including your thumb. The ball pops off, it would not twist or screw off. that's going to pop straight away out of the ring (basically ensure you both capture it or see the position it lands, lol). making use of a pliers in case you don't know how is in undemanding words going to smash your earrings, don't be tempted. After the ball pops off, basically twist the ring by and eliminate it. Viola! Captive bead ring bumped off. :) If for some reason you're nevertheless having problem, maximum piercing studios will replace your earrings for a nominal value (mine does for $5) or maybe loose in case you purchase your new earrings from them.

look all piercing go well mank, at least mine have i ahve 11 piercings 9 of which i done myself, i would have several more but i changed my mind after doing them. so i know bout piercings. ok first thing is have a bath dont fill it with oil or other shite, u gotta clean the area round the piercing, be gentle with it, if its really manky and full of pus then you should remove as much pus as possible onto like a clean tissue or something, after the bath make a small cup of salt water, thats salt in a cup, not loads, covered in boiling water, let it cool a bit and stir it so the salt dissolves, get tissue or a cotton bud and put the salt water on piercing, its gonna sting but salt is really good for cuts n stuff, dont put a plaster (band aid) on it unless absolutly neccasary cos it needs air to heal, if you have to put plaster on then make it a fabric one not a waterproof one, so it gets some air at least. you gotta remove pus every time it biulds up a lot, and put salt water on regular, if that stings too much you can use healing creams like savalon or sudocream, but if you use those you cant have a plaster on it.
ok goodluck.
