I have a first date tomorrow. I'd like to have her over to see my new apartment. My sister says I'm sending the wrong idea. What do you think?

she is probably right. that may not be your intentions but espically for the first date you need to be in public. maybe save this move for the third date or something

Don't invite her back !!
First dates are for finding out if they other person is a psycho or possibly something special for the future.
If you invite her back you are sending SOO many wrong messages,(eg Come back to my lair.....I am a psycho.......don't want to know you just bonk you.......I have no idea about the personal safety issues for today......I don't mind bunny boilers in my life.... and most of all I AM CHEAP)

A coffee (and cake) only costs a few $$ and for a first date should be dutch anyway!.

There is no rule that says you can't tell her about your fab new place and see if she might be interested see ing it next time, but it's not the way to start a poss relationship, or to tell a girl you don't want to know her after all.

Keep the tour for later!!

I'd take her out somewhere first...and then maybe go back to your apartment. Actually, no. I think it really is sending out the wrong idea to an extent. It really just depends on the girl.

I would feel uneasy if I were to have a first date with a guy at his apartment.

No, asking a girl to your place on a first date will lead the girl to thinking that you want to bed her. And she wouldnt feel safe going over without knowin u too well.

Most decent girls wouldnt feel respected if the guy ask her to his place on a first date, cuz the girl would think that the guy sees her as some "loose b|tch" that can be bed easily.

There is no prb in showing ur new appt but u put ur mind clear. make ur first date special by making the coffee urself for the gal... Make it in front of her. She will feel glad. After the coffee take her a children's park.. she will become happy.. remember its ur first date dont take her to any romantic place... take her to the park.. talk to each other, know each other.. then make things forward.

You're sister is right. On a first date, you're asking a girl to your apartment means you want a fast track.

Go to a restaurant. Your new woman needs a relatively safe place to meet you. Women have very real issues with feeling safe and not threatened. If she feels threatened, she will back off quickly. Meet her in a safe public place, find out who she is and let her find out who you are. Take your time with the initial introduction to each other.

First take her out. If it's going well, suggest showing her your place. If she agrees, not only will you get to show her your apartment but also you'll most likely get laid. Have fun.

I don't think it's a problem. I am open-minded. My first date with my current man was at his apartment. We drank wine and watched a movie together, we've been together since, and it's been three years.
