I would like to get microsoft word by itself,can you tell me if I can do that,or if I need to get it with other software,any suggestions?

Word can be purchased as a stand-alone product or it can be obtained by purchasing Microsoft Office.

You can purchase a version of Microsoft Office (which includes Word) at sites on the web, or bid on one on ebay. But, I'd like to make another suggestion. You can download a totally free alternative called "Open Office" at the below link. Many of its features are totally compatible with Microsoft's products. Hope this helps.

But a better option is Microsoft Office Home & Student - companies seem to be promoting this one like crazy and are offering it for around $200. It contains: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a program called OneNote (not sure what that is). These are Cdn prices.
The usual big box stores have these.
