With tec advances, Why do they always still blast everything with a thousand gallons of water, the military has used preasure foggers for years, Also all the money spent on robots, explosive water charges, i would think that they would be using robots with explosive (afff) foam charges by now.

Water is still the most effective general purpose extinguishing agent. It is relatively cheap, easy to deliver, reliable, and can be in practically unlimited quantity.

Generally when you see straight streams it is because it must be necessary to stand way back from the fire. Water spray is much more effective, but has relatively short range. Foams, mists and dry chemicals are also used, but their use is usually limited to special hazards.

The AFFF you mention is not very effective on a three dimensional fire.

That's coz water has already been accepted as the mode of gushing away fire. Maybe when the people are ready for more change, people would start using foam charges already ^_^ Hey! some people arnt even comfortable with me hanging around with my ipod.. they think it's weird >_< lol
