How would you test to see if your neighbors are drug dealers?

Question

Based on my neighbor's behavior I'm 90% certain that they sell drugs. Here's why I say that:
1. It's a married couple in their late 20's with a 6yr old son.
2. They are missing a couple teeth but live in a fairly expensive neighborhood.
3. The mom doesn't work and the dad doesn't have a regular work schedule.
4. There are at least 4 different cars, some of which I've never seen before, parked in front of their house/in their driveway.
5. Recently, the cars have gotten nicer and nicer- today there was a BMW, H3, and a Lexus (all newer) in front of their house at the same time.
6. Over the past three months I've seen AT LEAST 30 cars I don't recognize parked in their drive way.
7. The majority of the people who get out of these cars are always on their cellphone.
Maybe I'm just paranoid but I really want to know if they sell drugs. Any ideas other than trying to buy from them? I don't want to do anything dumb to get myself hurt in any way OR create conflict. HELP!

Knock on their front door, explain that your putting together a small care package to send to your great aunt Mildred in Ohio, and you were wondering if they happened to have a scale laying about, preferably one that measures in grams, postage is a ***** and you don't want to drive all the way to the post office and over pay :).

"90 % certain" ? Let me answer your numbers one-seven.. 1.I see nothing wrong with the age of child in relation to the parents.. 2.. I am missing teeth, my parents are missing teeth, my daughter is missing teeth and all due to normal causes.. 3.. I have a military pension ( and have had one sense I was in my late 20's) because I had to get out due to injury in the gulf war.. My wife has a USPS pension.. We need not work, but we from time to time do things (interestingly enough) like sell cars.. It is a great way to make money..4 (answerd in 3)... 5 (answerd in 3).. 6 Possible death in family, or even church activity, or maybe even just good old fashioned friends.. 7 Everyone I know has a cell phone.. I would believe that cell phones, radeos and such would tend to make a drug dealer nervouse.. Perhaps looking at it from another angle, such as.. The person... ie eating habits, sleep paterns, weitght gains and losses, general physical appearance from one day to the next, body smell (you mentioned lack of teeth, this leads me to believe you may be implying Meth) if so there is a very recognisable smell that the body makes... Now this is just a few things to look for, I am sure that there are more... But even all this does not tell you if they sell something like that... Perhaps a better understanding of the people visiting, surely they are local people, go to the local restaurant have a cup of coffee and just listen... OH.. I gave you a 12% bassed on only one very weak possible (the teeth).. Take 90 and devide by 7...Good luck in your search... okay first of all let me say that just because they are missing some teeth and live in a nice neighborhood doesn't mean anything, that is kinda judgemental. Its like saying that people who drive H3 and BMWs don't do drugs because they drive nice cars. but anyway, the fact that there are craploads of different cars in the driveway is a good sign there is something going on. I used to live next to people who sold drugs and they had some sure signs that they were drug dealers.
#1. They had people who were acting REALLY wierd on their front porch at odd times (3,4,5am) or all through the day when normal people would be eating or at work or sleeping.
#2. if they sell weed they usally smoke with some of their customers, so you'll smell a sweet pungent odor that LINGERS, it's not like pipe tobacco, cigars or ciggarettes. you'll know.
#3. If they sell METH or crack the people that will come to their house WON't care who they ask for it in front of. a priest could be there and they'll ask. their usually strung out and look and act really really odd.
#4 if they are selling pills you won't really ever know because its usually family or friends they sell to and those transactions go down over the phone and are done someplace other than the dealers home. like you'll meet them someplace. so you'll never really know.
#5 if you ever EVER see someone leaving that persons house with a plastic baggie or see a whole lot of different people over there who don't stay very long before they rush off don't hesitate to call the police, they won't get mad at you and they'll come check it out because you probably got a drug dealer.

How does being in your late 20's with a 6 year old son correlate to drug dealing? Since I had a 9 year old and a 5 year old when I was 29, I meet one of your criteria. Also, I work constantly changing shifts and my husband is self-employed so, to outsiders, it might look like we don't work. Have you ever considered that they might operate a home-based business (besides the drug market)? While they could be dealing drugs, I wouldn't go jumping to assumptions based on what you've said. Why don't you just talk to your neighbors and share some friendly chit-chat about what they do for a living?

Honestly, with these types of people it is best to just mind your own. You don't want to piss off your neighbor. Yeah, you may not agree with what they are doing, but you don't want to put your self in a situation that could cause you harm. Especially if they do drugs, they can become very paranoid as well.
