He tells me he still loves me, misses me, and one day we will live a beautiful life together. We used to have sex when I visited, then go weeks without talking...etc. Last time I saw him he took me out to dinner and said he had to be good, the sex in between was "weird" ...waht does this mean? does he really still love me? is he waiting for the sex until we get together again? does this show respect for me and maturity on his part? its obvious he has no one else b/c he texts me all the time saying he misses me etc. but im at college and he wants me to have fun and couldnt handle the long distance. why does he not want to get sexual anymore and say he has to be good?

the whole story sounds weird.forget this guy find someone that's closer to your domain.all sex is good even when it's bad,so there's no such thing as bad sex

He is having sex with other people. The oh I miss you garbage is him not being able to let go and being selfish. If the timing isn't right it just isn't right and he doesn't want to fix the distance problem or he would have moved to be by your school. He thinks there is someone better out there but so far you are the best he has been able to find. He will move on as soon as he finds that other "better" person. Dump him, be happy to be rid of the drama and do not respond or even read any of his texts any more.

The lack of emotional connection when there used to be one makes it awkward.
But don't think that just because he texts you all the time that you are the only one. It's just as possible to do that beside with someone else. But as to what it means, it could mean lots of things if he doesnt want to have sex. It might be anything from a matter of deep respect, or lost interest.

Well anyone can tell you they love you, miss you and text you, it sounds to me like he is cheating on you that is why he has to be good, and why the sex is weird because he is feeling guilty about cheating

He may want a real relationship with you...because sometimes men will not have sex because they don't want the relationship to be based on just that...you should ask him though if you realy care

it really sound like he playing with your head, if he want to
get back with you that one thing but this stuff is crazy, you need
to move on and go out there and have fun. if it is meant to be
it will. but dont just wait around to see if this will be something
in future.

I think you are right to think he is just trying to be mature, waiting for you two to get back together is probably the best thing to do anyways.
