You're looking for meaning in life when there isn't any. Life is whatever you make of it. And when you die, you leave everything behind.
Basically what you should be focusing on is having fun and what makes you happy. Try to do some things you like, maybe bowling or going to the mall. Take some friends and odds are you'll meet more people and have a good time.

How old are you? If you're still young, just give it time and tackle one thing at a time.
Have you ever thought about the military? It sure straightened me out, and not every military occupation invloves combat.
Have you ever thought of trying some kind of summertime humanitarian project? There are tons of things you can do in Mexico, but also lots of things you can do right where you are.I mention this because this has helped a lot of people to really get focused in life.

Maybe what you really need is to discuss this with a psychotherapist or psychiatrist who can help you with medications. Everyone gets frustrated with where they are in life from time to time, but I always look at someone who really has it bad...the homeless...no home...no money..no skills. Or I think of the poor people in Iran and Iraq who daily endure bombings and bloodshed, and then I look again at myself and realize I really have it pretty good. If you have a roof over your head, food in your refrigerator, a computer to use...things can't be that bad....but I hear what youre saying. Get some help for yourself...you know the trip of a1000 miles begins with the first step...you just took the first step by asking what you can do...now take another one and find some professional help.

Ever think you could be too hard on yourself?
Our greatest judge on earth is the one we see in the mirror every day. There's absolutely nothing wrong with setting goals for yourself...just know that the greater the goal...the more work you will have to put in...Great things require great time and effort...
Even if you're not the best at what you set out for by tomorrow, you're one step closer to the goals you set than before.
There are so many people in history that were unsuccessful plenty of times before they found success. Michael Jordan, Abraham Lincoln, Einstein...all greats...but all had to be determined and persistant to find excellence!
Above all, don't give up on yourself and on't be too hard on yourself. Complete success is rarely achieved in a days work...be persistant, be faithful, and be patient!!

Sit down and write out what the goals are that you want to achieve. Make a list of short term goals that are within a year. And then make a list of long term goals that are longer than one year. Short term goals that are going to be realistic. Such as; I plan on joining a gym, I plan on changing the way I eat, I plan on spending more time with friends doing fun things. One could be I plan on getting a job within this year. Long term would be I plan to marry one day, I plan to have a degree or training in a certain area. I plan on buying a house. I plan on getting out of debt.
Then you write the steps that you will take for each plan. What you will actively do to achieve that goal. Such as I plan on getting a job so I am going to actively look in the newspaper, online, or thru a job agency.
When you have alot of things you want to achieve, it can get very overwhelming unless you set some goals and tasks and make it all achievable by taking one step at a time. You can also do the same thing for how you approach your life. You can say short term, I plan on seeing a therapist. I plan on writing in a journal everyday. I plan on talking to people about my feelings when I am depressed.

You can read the books by Mr. Norman Vincent Peale, especially his 'The Power of Positive Thinking' and 'The Power of Positive Living'. The others have given you wonderful suggestions on how to reorganize yourself, but I just popped in to give you this tip. By reading this books, you can know about others who have tried and failed, like you have, and who have bounced back, which you have not yet. They are all true stories, and Mr. Peale uses very simple language. I read a chapter before every exam I've had to face, and Mr. Peale's helped me out a lot.
Good luck!! :)

May be you are not doing what you really want to do. I use this technique:
Take a time to write down the things you dream doing in one column, write next to this column another one about the things you hate doing or don't wan;t to be involved. (10 or so each side). Then number them in order (what for you goes first, second and so forth).
Now you have an idea about what you want to do. do something to accomplish the first or second best thing you chose.
Hope this helps... You may repeat this once in a while to see how you change.
My father used to tell that we usually compare ourselves to an ideal, while we must remember that we are beginning from scratch... so failure is normal, so little is good from the first time. Forgive yourself... we are only human, not perfect. ;)

Honestly, its not easy to find something your passionate about, especially if your young. But thats what you have to work on. Right now, you need to find an interest that you may not excel in right away, but you like it so much you will work to be better in. Sounds to me like you would benefit from a more private, but rewarding activity. Have you tried writing poetry? playing an instrument? painting? drawing? You really must dabble in a bunch of different things, and once you find out what you love to do, life will be better over-all.
If you really do have horrible feelings of depression, you might want to consider seeking professional help.

Hey, I don't really have any new advice, but hang in there! I feel like that all the time cause I suffer from depression, so I totally get it. I promise you, there are people who look at you and wish they had what you had. You are better at "life" than you think and I hope you realize this soon. I'm sure you're great! =)

i totally know how you feel. I never like school and was made fun of. You are not a failure. just focus on doing what is right. I do not feel successful either. I feel as if I am a failure but I just pray and read the Bible. I focus on God. you may think it is a cop out, but it is not. Pray about all you do. put Christ in the center of your life. do not focus on what you can not do but what you can do...
do different things and see what you like to do. take a career test to see what you are good at.
