Air rifles and pistols firing pellets are a lot more powerful than BB's. BB's are round and so don't have very good aeordynamics and aren't accurate at more than pretty short ranges.
As far as velocity, that varies a bunch too. You can buy air pistols that fire at reletively low velocities, and you can buy air rifles that can fire pellets faster than bullets from a handgun travel.

not alot of BB gun is cheap or good there are alot of good place have them and it like make of solid metal and the gun is very small make by gold to and u can not see them because they are small and the cheap on i can find is in china they use it everywhere when u try to shoot a bad bad guy

they arent good for hunting if that's what you mean, i wouldent hunt with anything less than a 243
