At first I though I would enjoy being married to a woman that is extremely intelligent. It makes for more interesting and thoughtful conversation. It really turns out to be one sided and opinionated communication; along with some manipulation due to the overabundance of in-depth analysis of every situation. In the end, a man's better off with woman with a "lack of brain", after all even forest gump knew what love is.

Not me . Think about it. Do you want to make all of the decisions, right or wrong. I would rather have someone who helps me grow and learn than a empty shell. Remember the body ages but the true person in side just gets more beautiful each day. So if you want to start and end your marriage with an air balloon, go ahead. The fun will go flat on you.

Any man notices a particularly beautiful, fashionable woman, but if she isn't interesting and intelligent, what is the point? I hear stories about 'high-maintenance divas' who can't cook or clean and refuse to let anyone over after they get home and take their makeup off. They expect in a divorce for the man to hand over all the money he makes, not just a reasonable amount of alimony and child support. These women make good money and do not even need alimony.

Anyway, my point is that it is a shame some men marry these beautiful and useless women. Maybe it is not their fault they ended up that way, but these girls are old enough to get a life and not be so dependent on a man. Is it his job to do everything around the house, pay for everything while she spends every penny of her own on high fashion and then get ordered around?

Quite the contrary.
Men want someone who can help them:
Pay bills,
figure out the checkbook,
plan trips,
reach out with his hand and you give him a 10-penny nail pointed in the right direction,
show up with a cup of coffee when he's been up all night doing the taxes.
He doesn't want a dummy, he wants a partner and occasionally someone smarter than he is.

Think about this, if that is what you think:
He wants his children to be smart children and only a smart mother can help do that.

No, the bimbo mistress can be stupid. The wife has got to be smart.

no, some men prefer lack of brains in women in dating (because they can control them easier), but not in the long-term. I can't imagine getting stuck with someone for the rest of my life that I can't even have an intelligent conversation with.

Not really lack of brains... more like less brains than them. I don't think I'd want to date a girl I thought was smarter than me. At least not in every way.. I don't mind some things.. but not everything you know? It would feel like a parent-child relationship to me.

Not all men. Some do though, it will depend on the man. People ususally end up with someone of the same maturity level. Example: See Jessica Simpson.

Don't think so. In marriages, men also need the wifes' point of view and maybe help in solving family problems. You can't rely so much on men you know.

Not me! One of the things that I really liked about my wife before I married her is that she and I could hold intelligent conversation about politics, world events, education, and yes, even SPORTS! it helped that she is a football fan.

I appreciate having my best friend to bounce ideas off of.
