I'm having some troubles, I recently purchased an AK type rifle from this guy but when I went out to the range the rifle simply won't chamber the rounds. It's weird but they just don't fit into the chamber at all.

Here's a picture I took of it at home illustrating the problem I'm having.

Anyone have an idea on what might be the problem? Thanks for any help that can be provided.

What you have is NOT ANY type of AK! !
From your photo, I can't tell if it is even a firearm. It might be a .22lr, but looks more like a pellet gun.
For $150 bucks, YOU GOT RIPPED!
(UNLESS YOUR REALLY JUST TRYING TO F*&K with your betters.)
LOOK CLOSER, GENTLEMEN, THIS TOY DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A CENTERFIRE CHAMBER! LOL!

Everybody's guessing about the chamber, and I'm not sure it's chambered at all. Hard to tell from the picture, but it's quite possible your carbine, whatever it is, missed the trip to the reamer, and you have a straight unchambered barrel. Take a closer look and maybe a Cerrosafe cast, or better still take it to a 'smith to check the rest of the parts, too. There seem to be some serious quality control issues here.

The rifle in that pic doesn't look like an AK action to me, and it's clearly NOT chambered in 7.62x39mm.

It sure isn't an AK of any kind, my ol' man has 3. Is it a .22? Is it even a rifle?

Good Call randkl.
From the picture the slug of the 7.62 x 39 wont enter the chamber by its self, there by if you cant get a 7.62mm projectile in it how are you going to chamber a case of a 223 that is 9.60mm in diameter, Let alone the case of a 5.45x39.

233??? That a new on me!
It don’t look like a TOZ-78 .22LR to me, not even close.
Look at the attachment for theTOZ-78 .22LR

I would say you got your self a pellet gun.
If I were you I would be wonting to have a talk to the person that sold it to you.

That my opinion.

It's not an AK 47, it's an AK 74, the rifle that replaced the AK 47.
It's caliber is 5.45x39, a round developed by the Soviets in rsponse to the success of the US/NATO 5.56 round.

Don't be disapointed, its a newer design, in a more modern caliber, and is actually worth a few bucks more than it's 7.62x39 cousin.

It is an air rifle not an AK clone.
I have that same problem with my air rifle. That will be 2 for the answer and 10 for looking at the photo and knowing it is not an AK..

That's a pellet gun chamber. If he sold you this as a real rifle, you've been taken. I can't see the entire gun, but it looks possibly like one of the chinese training rifles, worth about 40 bucks.

You don't have an AK. Looks like some kind of .22.

Take gun to gunsmith and have him tell you what caliber you got. If you paid or the $150.00 you got took.

I'm not positive, but it appears to me that the gun might be chambered for the other common AK round, 5.45x39. The gun is not an AK, they aren't top eject and have a gas tube above the barrel, so look for receiver stamp marks for better clues, or lay the gun out flat so you can compare it with pictures of other guns for clues. Better yet, ask the rangemaster.
