You are right that's skanky...so how about this option...Stop worrying about whether you are going to wake up alone or not and instead start concentrating more on zeroing in on the kind of guy that you really like...one that has all the attributes you are looking for in a very long term relationship such as marriage. My strategy here would be lets stop being what can make me feel good today but instead invest in yourself for a long term mate and that way when you do get married it will be to the right guy because you made a good choice and uh, oh ,,,guess what?...you will never have to go to bed alone again. See what I am saying here....Invest in your self so that you have a future with a guy...I mean you are worth investing in aren't you?...Of course you are...think about it....Good Luck!

Friends with benefits is NOT the answer. You can try it out if you don't want to believe me. Feelings get in the way, and there's no way to completely shut out your feelings. Trust me, it just doesn't work, and you'll end up getting really hurt.
Picking up guys doesn't mean you're a skank. You don't have to sleep with every guy you meet, you can start dating and then if you like each other enough, move on to a good relationship.
Being single can be fun. You can flirt away, and not have to do anything back. It's neat.

I wouldn't recommend it. It'd get awkward eventually.
That and you retain your attachment with him which you wanted to break in the first place, this will not allow you to mature, and branch out to meet new people.
There's nothing wrong with sleeping with new people if you genuinely like them, it's only when you're doing it for the hell of it and rather irresponsibly that makes someone a ****.

Don't stay at home! Get out and have some fun with your girlfriends and such. If you're not ready to date then don't. Take time for yourself and really get the loneliness out of your system!

if you are along then do something about it, go out with friends
start doing thing that will get you active again. then you wont
feel so along. it hard when you have been with someone
for such a long time.but it will get better. friend with benefits
that not something that i would do. that could get ugly down
the road.

And slutting yourself out to the ex is something other than skanky? You need to get more stable on your own before you end up in another bad spot real soon.
